I was 23 over 9 years ago, and I wasn't doing so well for myself. Since then, I have built 5 startups, built a unicorn, lead teams at google, bought my dream cars, married the woman of my dreams, have beautiful kids.
So, time really does not matter, it's a marathon not a sprint

One day we will come to the timeline to talk about our tech bosses who use developers to build their startups under the disguise of hackathon.
Until then.

My next pickup line: "Hello baby. Did you hear that paystack sold for over $200m? Yeah, I am into that field also, I have that potential. Are you doing or you are not doing?"
Dear newbie,
The Nigerian tech zone is becoming toxic. Our dear heroes are becoming bullies. Our sis/bros who want to famz are becoming toxic, and trying to be savage to us. In 2020, join one small community, work hard in silence and blow, then people will look for & respect you
I was working on a project and needed to use an svg world map for it. I searched and couldn't find a suitable one, so I and

created one . Its available here for use.

I am going to do the best work of my career so far this year.
I will grow 1000x this year.
I will become a force in HCI, Interaction Design, UX Design and UX Research globally.
Speaking this into manifestation.
If you’re a designer in Nigeria, please reply with your name and perhaps a link to any work you’d love to share. The goal is to get other designers to follow you and employers to see you.
I’ll be reposting as many as possible on my fleet, think of it like a shoutout weekend.🚀🚀
DeGea can save Nigeria, AWB can defend Nigerians against corruption. Maguire can tackle bad leaders, Pogba can pass good governance to us, and Rashford can shoot us back to the becoming the giants of Africa again. Nigeria and Nigerians need this

I see an embarrassing scoreline for arsenal tomorrow.
Arsenal 1 - 5 manutd.
You saw it here first. Pogba to get two assist and a goal. Lukaku with his first

hattrick tomorrow and someone else with the last goal.

Dear designer,
Task for this week:
1. LEARN UX WRITING (find a crash course or a comprehensive course) and learn it this week.
2. LEARN EFFECTIVE USER/PRODUCT RESEARCH (find a crash course or a comprehensive course) and learn it this week also.
❤, Chris.
As a product designer in a startup, every single day you’ll have to find a balance between perfection and speed, between user needs and business needs, between art, science and commerce.
Good luck to every product designer out there.
Some Exciting Announcement - Coverai got acquired.
After 3 months, 12.5k users and some paying customers I am happy to announce that coverai got acquired by a team I believe in to lead coverai's next phase of explosive growth.
What's next for me? Many things. 😅
Dear techie,
I just want you to realize that your hardwork, late nights, struggle, consistent learning and everything else WILL PAY OFF.
You might not see its results now or a year from now, but trust me when I say this. Max of two years, you'd be balling.
Just keep growing.
You have a resource? Share it. You have a link to a course? Share it. You saw an opening? Share it. You have a project you want to open source? Share it.
That link or opening is what might be the next big thing in someone else's career. Thats the community we are building. ♥️♥️
1. What type of frustrating UI is this?
2. Default country code is for Indians
3. What sort of UX writing is this?
4. Terms and conditions leads no where.
5. Cant register or login.
Honestly, if there is any rating worse than 1, its what I'd give this app.
This is a bad app
Design is not the noise we make on twitter. There are designers and there are design-ass.
The guys making real impact don't paste anything on twitter. Twitter na audio and exxageration.

Over the past year, I have tutored/mentored over 1,000 designers around the world.
I am taking this up a notch in the coming year and have been working on an exclusive and more in-depth product design curriculum and design class.
Grateful to the universe for the opportunity 💪
Good day,
You write your first line of code, then you update your twitter bio and write "Tech savvy, Frontend Wizard, React Evangelist, Javascript destroyer" bro/sis please calm down, yes, breathe, drink water, now change that bio.
With love,
Chris.

Dear Startupper,
When preparing your pitch deck, you don't need more than 10 slides to pass your point across and convince those you are pitching to. Let your slides be direct, concise, convincing and follow a progression.

Questions to ask yourself when measuring a great user experience.
1. Usability: How easy is it to use.
2. Adoptability: How fast can users begin to perform task with it.
3. Valuablility: Does it address the business needs. At the end of the day, a good design generates revenue
The singular reason why UX Designers can never go out of jobs, or why UX Design can never be downplayed is because, at the centre of everything, UX Design is just about solving peoples problems efficiently.
The more problems you solve for people, the more valuable you are.
Designers will use one week to design an entire logistics mobile app for fun. When you give us the actual work, we spend 2 to 4 weeks, deciding the best end-to-end onboarding process to adopt after 10 iterations and 8 usability test sessions.
This life is not easy. 😂😂
I am angry this morning. Web guys pls whenever a newbie comes to you for advise on what tech track to follow, do not suggest JS or python to them first. Tell them to make research and find a niche they love. Not everyone will code Python or Js. Some want to do flutter or design.
I have been on dribbble for sometime now, I just made my dribbble debut some days ago.
I will keep posting some designs on dribbble. Feel free to drop some feedbacks, and lets also connect on dribbble.
I am tweeting this with so much pain in my heart.

Introducing CoverAI, your first personal job assistant expert! 👋
Instead of spending hours writing custom cover letters, intro messages, and researching possible interview questions to prepare adequately for an interview, why not save your time…
If I created a youtube channel to constantly teach product design, UI, UX mobile development both native and hybrid. Will you subscribe?
If I also created my own personal tech blog will you signup and read my technical articles?
A good design is intentional: There must always be a reason for that button, that font style, weight, that color pallette, that faint division line, those background patterns.
Designing with intention enhances consistency.
Thats one trick for consistency.
So guys, I created a youtube channel, and I am looking forward to sharing my first youtube video this week.
Subscribe, give me motivation (lol) and be among the first to get constant quality design tutorials.
Help me get to 200 subscribers today. 😭😭
Currently writing an article about improving design documentations and design-to-engineering handoff process.
If documentation and handoff is a big issue for your team, keep an eye out for this article.
Designers lets get help!
You'd comment the concept in design that you are currently having issues with, and someone will provide you with a resource or help clear the blocks for you.
Let's go!!!!
The importance of having just the right drop-shadow in your UI design cannot be over-emphasized. I wrote this article as a go to guide to helping designers create better shadows in the UI designs.
Hello friends, this is a 2 minutes tutorial on renaming, creating multiple components and working with variants. This method will speed up your work process when working with icons/assets on figma.
Look at this image, what does it tell you about design in general, human psychology, Visual hierarchy, persuasion in design.
RT for other designers to answer also.
Designers & developers please get in here.
I have an idea that sounds so nice in my head, but I am not so sure it is actually great, but anyway, I will drop it here.
I have discovered that most designers on this street do not have actual jobs, full time or remote. Same for...
How to get improve your skill quickly?
Step 1. Take time to learn consistently and intentionally.
Step 2. Teach someone that thing you learnt.
Step 3. Practice consistently.
If in this 2020 you are a UI/UX designer and you dont still know that design is beyond aesthetics, then I am telling you now that design is >70% UX and <30% UI.
Spend more time thinking about the solution and not just opening your design tool to start drawing shapes.
Chris, ❤
HOW TO GROW IN YOUR FIELD
1. ACCEPT the fact that there are things you do not know
2. BE HONEST about the things you do not know
3. GET RESOURCES and start learning what you have identified you do not know
4. SET METRICS to measure your learning and growth
👆This helped me.
In 5 to 10 years, alot of us will not be where we are now. Most will be running their startups, some working in the biggest companies in the world.
Wherever you are or get to, never forget your small circle. The guys you envy today did not leave their small circle behind.
♥️♥️
You want to become a better dev or designer? Simple.
Teach people any difficult concept you are learning. Anything you are struggling with, get people and teach them.
In the mood of sharing old interactions, I was learning how to actualize the typing effect & scaling graph effect here. I did this also like 5 months back. Replicated an interaction from dribbble. Looking back now, I should have added interactions to the figures and progress bar.
I am planning to have a December kinda bootcamp for product design. It will run on weekends alone, Saturdays and Sundays starting from the second week of December.
Anyone knows an affordable venue to use? Anyone willing to mentor during this bootcamp?
Hit me up please. 😊 RT
Designers are saying 400k per week is loose change in Nigeria.
God, I was not made to be poor please. Shine your light on me na. Me sef can arrange shapes on an artboard. 😪😭😭😭
UX design goes beyond digital products. Improving user experiences should be the goal of every team solving a problem both digitally and not. Until we begin to see design beyond digital products, we will never truly understand and appreciate UX.
Below are cases of very bad UX.
As a designer in Nigeria, please learn a bit of coding. Take a HTML/CSS/Bootstrap/JS/Flutter/Kotlin crash course. This way, you create more intuitive designs, and developer cannot lie to you about what can be done and what cannot.
All these lazy FE guys set out to frustrate you.
I think newbies should have <20% tech related gists on their TL. It can be overwhelming most times. You see others doing well, pushing narratives, and you might tend to forget easily that it took them years to get to that point, then you begin to loose focus and feel bad.
So, you want to be a great all round digital product designer. A road map of what to know about.
1. UX Design
2. UI Design & Principles
3. Design Thinking
4. Design Systems
5. UX Writing
6. HCD
7. UX Research
8. Micro-interactions
9. Prototyping and Wireframing
WHAT ELSE?🤔
Don't lie ooo. What development model do you use.
(a) TDD: Test driven development
(b) DDD: Deadline driven development
(c) FDD: Fear driven development
(d) PDD: Pressure driven development
(e) EDD: Emergency driven development
(f) BDD: Blame driven development.
Which is yours?

Everyone in Naija tech space is moving mad! Designers, developers, everyone pulling their weight putting in the work and breaking limits.
I am really happy and proud of everyone. Soon one of us go be CEO for one of the FAAMG.
