For NSPCC Number Day, children in Year 6 looked at the Italian Mathematician Fibonacci and his famous sequence of numbers. They explored how the Fibonacci spiral can be identified in nature and also famous pieces of art. We then had a go at creating our own!

Year 1 welcomed families to a reading workshop with the aim of learning reading strategies that can be used at home as well as to promote a love of reading.

As part of their art topic on paintings, year 4 had an amazing experience at the Wallace Collection. They took part in a powerful portrait workshop and studied some of the old masters, which they used to inspire their own portraits. The gallery was so impressed with them!

Just Be You is a transformative dance programme created to inspire and empower girls aged 8-16. Participants build self-confidence, improve their mental and physical health, and find creative outlets through street dance and music. Here are some Keyworth children taking part:

This week we had a Jewish speaker come in from her north London Synagogue to give an assembly about the Jewish religion, its festivals and artefacts. The children enjoyed learning about traditions of Judaism and getting to explore the artefacts.

To celebrate World Religion Day (Sunday 19th Jan), year 4 explored the shared values of world religions such as: help others, give to charity, everyone is equal, treat others as you would like to be treated. They had fun making their religious dolls and sharing these messages.
