Back when I was a cop we spent the time not on calls looking for bad guys and trying to make the city safer. These days, with every move recorded and every minor error prosecuted, officer don't look for crooks anymore. Everything you do is going to be judged and second guessed by every internet "expert" in the country. The less you do, the less likely you make a career-ending mistake.

Police respond to calls for service from citizens. There is no harm to you or your rights if you just cooperate and let him clear the call. This idiot prolongs his contact with police over some sense of being "oppressed". Just identify youself for the officer can determine there is no crime and be on your way.

I don't think so, Carl. Schools stopped teaching civics many years ago. Today's students know very little US history, how the government works or anything good about the Founders. I think Vivek, like many of us, what that stuff taught again. If students can't pass a simple civics test they can't appreciate what they have.

The reason the government destroyed the middle class is because the middle class was getting too wealthy. People who have a little money don't need all the government services and "handouts". The bureaucrats can't have that, so as soon as you get a little ahead they find another way to tax you. They need you to be poor and dependent on them. They don't care if they have to give your money away for a study on flea farts. You have to be poor so they can keep the gravy train going. Imagine how well off we would all be if the government had only taken enough from the people to do it's job.
