Wife worked the sales barn today. Guy dropped some cows off. Two hours later went to go load some cows he bought. Opens back of trailer and some loser dumped 3 puppies in the back of his trailer. Listen to Bob “Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered”

Crazy morning I missed at farm. My cousin stopped at our tank room to get milk and left truck outside for 3 minutes. When he got out a truck was driving away and a lady was in his truck. She tried driving away but he stopped her. My dad and him detained her till cops arrived.

My cousin lives a decent distance off the road. 11 today a truck slammed into the tree in back yard. It be a good 100-150m off the road. Went off the road and through our field before hitting it. Guy left work not feeling well and blacked out. Was coherent when ambulance came.

Last week I lost my best buddy in the world Cash. He has been with Kristin and I since we first moved in. He helped me propose and get married. He was always at my side crop scouting and doing parts runs and was the gentlest soul in the world. I will always miss his sloppy kisses

When the wife and I first started dating. This cow as a heifer calved. During her first milking she booted me right in the face That week I met the wive’s family for the first time with black eyes and messed up nose. 9 years later and on her 7th lactation I still don’t forget.

Switched the old barn over to LEDs. Makes a world of difference in the barn. It’s pretty awesome. Also looking forward to the cheaper hydro. Now I’m gonna have to power wash it since can see the dirt now.

We record our hours on our farm. Just how we do things. Today I finished off this book. I started in April of 2007. It’s interesting looking back at some of the shifts that we used to run. Hoping to put less hours in the next book and more in life the next 15 years.

Was inline to do the last milking in the parlour tonight. My cousin’s kid and his friend offered to do it. For about 5 seconds I thought about telling them no I got it. Then I came to my senses. I will not miss that job after about 20 years of milking in there.

Wife has a nemesis on our farm. Ok milking cow but looks super special. Vet checking her is a process. Showed signs of heat in dry cow lot. Took 4 people to check that she was open. Shipped her to sales barn that wife was working at. I get this picture from her. Stare down!!

When I got done university we just bought in straw as we needed. Now we bale and put away 1200 bales as the wheat comes off. Seeing pictures of everyone on boats today really makes me wonder if this was the right decision. At least there not small squares

She has risen!! For the first time in a week and two days this cow has gotten up by herself. We have lifted her 2-3 times a day for the entire time.

Interesting find under the tin of an old pig barn the Amish are taking down on one of our properties. My great grandfather’s mother was a Baxter from this farm.

Wife and I just got back from Puerto Rico. Spent some time on main island and toured old San Juan. Then flew out to small island called Vieques. Did a bioluminescent bay and had amazing beaches. Wild horses on the island were cool even if they are hay burners. Would recommend.

Back in the day my grandpa used to drive from town to check cows for heats. If he saw road kill he would pull over put it on his hood or trunk and bring it to barn for cats to eat. So if you saw a dodge neon with road kill on it that was him. We might be a little white trash.

So much room for activities!!!! This heifer fractured her front left leg 4 months ago. Thought she was a goner. She’s been in a maternity pen ever since on strict rest. I think she is ready to move back in with her friends.
