Founder and Group CEO @VananamIndia & @therewardstore | Build in Bharat, Built by Bharat, Build for the world
Bangalore
Joined June 2020
As 2024 comes to a close, I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished this year at @therewardstore. It’s been a year of growth, resilience, and relentless focus on delivering value to our customers around the world. Every milestone we’ve hit reflects the hard work and passion of our incredible team. - 2.5Mn+ orders successfully processed - Supplying to 120+ countries. - Offering 8000+ global gift cards. - Successfully onboarded 200+ customers - Set up The Reward Store operations in 3 new locations globally - Team size grew from 20 to 80+ - Built over 50+ new features to enhance user experiences And so much more!.. But numbers and milestones only tell part of the story. What makes me most proud is that we’ve stayed true to our mission of democratizing rewards and benefits globally. The ‘Built in Bharat, Built by Bharat, Built for the World’ agenda continues to drive everything we do. Behind every milestone this year is an incredible team that has poured their heart and soul into turning ideas into reality. From those long working hours to crafting user -friendly experiences and becoming the go-to partner for global businesses, this year has been all about building something truly meaningful—together. Here’s to an even bigger, bolder future filled with growth, innovation, and staying rooted in what matters most: our amazing customers, our unstoppable team, and the vision we’re bringing to life every single day. @mahendrabenz @joshuagautham

I have to say, shifting to Bangalore early in life was a big decision for our family—one driven by my father, who made the tough call to shift to Bangalore, prioritising our education over his own comfort. It’s fair to say that I have a soft spot for this city. But beyond that personal connection, what truly stands out is the startup culture—something entirely different and unique. When I was consulting helping companies with their finances, I couldn’t help but ask them questions beyond just the numbers. I’d dig into their business decisions, trying to understand the thought process and ideas behind every move. I learned that Bangalore is all about building—and helping others build. Even if someone can’t help directly, they’ll introduce you to someone who can, more often than not this would be via Whatsapp groups called “Introductions” That’s what’s special about this place—people genuinely want to see each other succeed. Aside from the traffic (we all know how that is), if you’re building from Bharat, I truly believe Bangalore is where you need to be. I often think about this when I look out from our office terrace at HSR (A place where Coffee chains are filled with startup founders and VC world) watching other startups scale and grow. The energy here is contagious, and it’s the perfect place to turn ideas into reality. Interview Credits: @BeerBicepsGuy | @TheRanveerShow

When I talked about finding a co-founder on a podcast with @BeerBicepsGuy , I mentioned how certain things should be kept in mind when choosing someone to build with. A co-founder isn’t just a partner; they’re someone who should challenge and support you in the right ways. For me, that person has been @mahendrabenz Back when I was working as a consultant and practising as a CA, Mahendra and I would spend up to 14 hours a day strategizing and problem-solving. I remember telling him that I wasn’t feeling what most people call “The Kick.” He encouraged me to think bigger, to dream about something more meaningful and handed me a cheque. That’s when the idea of @VananamIndia began to take shape. Having a co-founder who truly believes in you and pushes you to think beyond the ordinary has been one of the greatest strengths behind our journey. Mahendra was actually thinking about retiring, but instead, he joined as a founder—trusting the vision with sheer blind faith. Having a co-founder who shares your vision and challenges you to think bigger makes all the difference. Interview Credits: @TheRanveerShow | @BeerBicepsGuy

Remembering Ratan Tata: A Legacy Beyond Business I’ve looked up to Ratan Tata Sir ever since I was a kid. Now, at 27, I realize how much his life and work have shaped my own beliefs about leadership and making a difference. He wasn’t just a businessman—he was a force for good, someone who built Bharat’s future, brick by brick. Just yesterday, I saw a video where he shared how he once wanted to buy a musical instrument but didn’t, because it cost a few lakhs. It struck me how he was someone who never spent on himself, even though he easily could have. But when it came to improving the lives of others, he never hesitated. That’s who he was—someone who put society first, always. Ratan Tata made me believe that no dream is too big, as long as it’s rooted in purpose. He took Tata Group to new heights, bringing world-class companies like Jaguar and Land Rover under Bharat’s flag. But more than that, he showed us that success isn’t just about profits—it’s about lifting others up. He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008, but what made him truly special was his heart. He focused on improving lives, solving problems, and giving back in ways that will be felt for generations. Ratan Tata’s passing is a huge loss. But his spirit will always be with us—in every act of kindness, in every effort to make our world a better place. He taught us that leadership is about serving others, and that real success is about leaving the world better than you found it. Rest in peace, Sir. You will always be a guiding light. #RatanTataSir
