@dobelieveinfree @DrRebeccaTidy Yes. She was recalled to prison but police couldn’t find her. She was a prisoner who wasn’t in prison. Such cases are normally found when they reoffend and the court /system notes warrant. Ironically because she had not offended (assumed) she went 20 years under the radar.

@DrRebeccaTidy That she left address Probation had or would have been arrested sooner. The police are quite good at picking up recalled offenders. I’ve worked in Probation for 30 years. Not being defensive and acknowledge sexism in CJS but you have to serve sentence even 20 years later.

@DrRebeccaTidy Not suggesting I agree but that’s the law. It suggests she got a decent sentence too (over a year) to have been supervised by probation on licence. There is no doubt the Criminal Justice System is misogynistic but that tracks back to original sentence. If UAL you ‘owe’ the time.
