Corporations have a fiduciary duty to extract maximum value from the workers, so I'm not exactly sure what you see wrong with the workers doing the same.
If anything, they are the clever ones; the motivated ones — and in the long run, I think you'll probably regret losing them.
Cal Newport's book "Deep Work" (about half-way through it now) has finally answered the nagging subliminal question long felt since adopting GTD: What do I do once my mind is clear?
These are extremely complementary methodologies.

This whole Mac Pro thing just shows me how many people are "pro" at what they do, but are somehow insulted their job requires so little processing power. :)
Even as a photographer that takes my work seriously, the Mac Pro is more than I need. I am eyeing that monitor, though.
