How will that shiny smooth granite sidewalk feel when it is raining, as it does for almost 5 to 6 months in Kathmandu? Or when the sun bounces off it in a city where heat has been breaking records? And when it’s not raining and layers of dust relentlessly covers it?
Urban Heat Bubble is a crisis in KTM. This will make the area hotter. Water logging is a crisis. This will allow greater water flow onto streets. Also, slippery when wet. Planning wise, terrible. Aesthetically, crass & cheap like a mall floor instead of KTM’s central Boulevard.

Also, this is going to look prominently dusty and dirty for most of the year, and wet & slippery during monsoon. Instead of picking something like stones or bricks, the city bafflingly decided on granite sidewalks 🤷🏻♂️
