@JeremyVineOn5 How about we stop breeding all so called domestic animals until our overflowing rescues are empty. Happy to force owners to keep cats indoors if dog owners agree to keep them on a lead, pick up their mess and stop thinking everyone else life revolves around their precious pooch!

It's the time of year now when your local council will start its yearly destruction of our greenspaces. Please help prevent this by making your feelings known. If there is a green space near you which is regularly slashed/strimmed/mown for no reason other than 'tidiness', please take action now. 1. Phone your local council and ask for the name and contact details of the person responsible for the cutting regime of public green spaces. 2. Write to that person, tell them about a particular area, include photos, and say you don't want it cut, you don't want all the insect life that's currently living there killed, or their habitat destroyed. Remind them that there will be vulnerable hedgehogs hibernating there they have a duty to protect. Explain that the insects that are now slumbering through winter in larvae form in these places are the insects that, this spring and summer, will pollinate our plants and crops and feed our hedgehogs and birds. Make it clear that you prioritise this life above 'tidiness'.
