@drvolts I live in a rural place & this is not my experience. Most of my neighbors are Trump supporters, but there are many bonds- church, hunting clubs, garden clubs, sewing circles (home extension), county fairs, sports, Lions Club (and similar), Rotary, Farm Bureau (and ag groups)

The problem with climate change is they most Americans are concerned about it, but don’t make it a high priority, while a minority of Americans are rabidly, passionately opposed to taking actions to stop it… (sorry @Noahpinion , had to be done).

Of all the unbelievable things that have happened in my life, the fact that more than half of my chickens survived an EF-3 tornado is the most amazing. Their houses, two barns are completely blown away with a huge debris field, but some of the chickens made it. How about that?

Today, we lost our precious Rachel. We took her to the vet thinking she had pain from hip dysplasia & discovered cancer in her stomach, lungs and blood. Named for Rachel Donelson—wife to Andrew Jackson, she was the best farm dog, a fine friend our girl.

In 1862, Mose Triplett enlisted in a North Carolina infantry regiment. He later deserted, and in 1864 joined a Union regiment. Due to his service, he got a veteran’s pension, which passed to his daughter, Irene. Irene died—this past Sunday, at 90. RIP.

@fawfulfan My husband and I had an Obamacare gold plan and it went up to $1390/month for two people. For family of 4, I can believe that amount. When the tax penalty came off, we switched to the private market & paid $690/month for similar coverage. Now I’m on employee coverage.

I had a beautiful birthday today and, as I age, I’m grateful for such different things than when. I was younger. I’m healthy, married to a wonderful man (15 years to my one and only), I find real purpose in my work and volunteer boards, and I love gardening and cooking. Grateful
