We were doing lab clean-up today and I google how to dispose of glycerol and one of the first things the google AI lists is feed to cattle. Seemed a bit impractical. Google AI might have a little bit of way to go in lab safety.

@PompanoLab My father-in-law worked at this plant in Marion, NC for 25 years. He said all the bridges to the plant were wiped out and so you can't get there. And a sterile plant will take a while to get back, when power returns. 50% of the US saline i.v.s are made there-which is crazy.

@drdre4000 I’m at a public university and we also have class every Labor Day. But staff are off. Had a medical incident in a lab today and tried sending student to Student Health but it was closed. Makes no sense.

@RossLabUC I recently shocked my 9-year old daughters friends by telling them I was 48. They thought that was so old. Their mom's were about 38-and I said I was that old when 9-year old was born! So you are still really young! Happy birthday!

Someone already said in their early talk today what we don’t need is more sensors for dopamine and of course that’s the topic of my talk tomorrow. But hopefully my 3D printed devices are flexible for many applications as well

As department chair, you are often overwhelmed with fixing problems, so I always appreciate it when colleagues share good news of grants or awards or other accomplishments. Love to celebrate other's success!
