Facts.
I do agree that using “hints” as absolute proof is unfair. Speculating based on vague signs, social media activity, or indirect messages often leads to unnecessary misunderstandings. However, what truly matters is the undeniable fact that Seunghan has yet to receive justice in any form—whether it be protection, reputation recovery, an apology, or legal action against those responsible. Instead, he has faced relentless pressure, death threats, defamation, abandonment and blame from the company, and the unjust deprivation of his dreams and opportunities. If there’s one fact that cannot be denied, it is this reality. That is why your statement—“you need to know your place as a fan, adapt and respect their choices or if it’s something you can’t do just unstan”—is logically flawed. Your argument might hold weight if what we were doing was solely about being fans, because in that case, it would indeed be about seeking personal enjoyment. But do you genuinely believe that those who continue to speak out—despite the time, effort, and what you yourself described as something “unhealthy and damaging”—are doing so simply as fans? That is far from the truth. This fight is not driven by fandom alone, but by fundamental human empathy. We do not speak up because we refuse to “adapt” as fans; we speak up because, as human beings, we cannot stand by and watch another person suffer from injustice without challenging it. As for the claim that “wanting to change the industry doesn’t work if it’s only at the expense of RIIZE and not your other favorite groups from all big greedy and disgusting companies,” this is another false equivalence fallacy. The fact that corruption and exploitation exist throughout the industry does not mean that people cannot or should not focus on cases they are directly connected to. Injustice does not need to be universal for it to be worth fighting against. The reality is that systemic issues are often challenged case by case, movement by movement. Change does not happen overnight, nor does it happen through vague generalizations. The notion that “you must fight everything or fight nothing at all” is not only unrealistic but also counterproductive—it discourages action rather than promoting it. If we followed this logic, no change would ever be possible. At the end of the day, whether one chooses to continue speaking up or not is a personal decision. But silencing and invalidating those who persist does not erase the injustice—it only makes it easier for what was wrong to be seen as right and as something that should be, despite it being fundamentally distorted. That being said, I understand your perspective. If we were speaking purely as fans, then yes—we should be able to enjoy our fandom experience in peace, free from conflict, just as you said. But the real question is: how does this situation actually end? Can fans alone truly bring closure to something that so many people are still actively fighting for? Even if time passes, I don’t believe the number of people seeking justice will ever truly reach zero—it could take years. And even when that day comes, if everyone stops fighting, this controversy would remain permanently attached to RIIZE’s image. I don’t see a reality where people simply stop talking about it unless the company—the one entity with the actual power to resolve this—takes action. By choosing to ignore the issue, SM isn’t protecting RIIZE; they are actively harming them. This will continue to be a scar on the group’s history, whether anyone likes it or not. And that’s not a threat—it’s simply a fact that is already unfolding.
