@hellartstitch lol I'm probably showing my age on that. I played the heck out of FF11 on PS2 and PC way back. I was a XIV sub from v1.0 on lol. That's my trusty game that never really lets me down.

This review actually has me kind of hyped to jump in. Well worth your time to give this a read!
Avowed is not my kind of RPG, but there's no denying it's a fantastic game. It plays it safe and familiar, but it's the perfect counter to Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. If you're the type of RPG player who dislikes what a lot of the massive, long, open-world RPG games do, Avowed is for you. It's gorgeous, the combat is fantastic, it's just a little too theme park for my personal tastes.

You are correct again. It's all about discussion. You're a million percent right: criticism is just that, it's not some veiled attempt at an own on somebody. It seems everybody wants to skip the discussion part and jump straight to the rage. We all just need to get over ourselves and take a moment to actually hear what people say. The true gamers just want awesome experiences.

@nuhre_ I don't get the complaints, either. I saw that Housemarque game (Saros?), and that reminded me that I never played Returnal, and I probably should have. In a world where we're constantly fed rehashed sequel slop, fresh IPs are appreciated!

Preach. I stuck it out with The Veilguard to the end, because of the potential payoff at the end. I DID like the ending, but the majority of that game was just terrible. Such a letdown. With you on Final Fantasy; I'm such a nerd for the franchise that I instantly pre-order everything related lol. I never finished TLOU2. I didn't hate it, though. I didn't LIKE "the death," but I believe it served the intended narrative effect. Like I said, expectations aren't high on Avowed, but, I would love to be wrong. When great games are released, we ALL win!

@nuhre_ Yeah, as am I. The last game I completed was the Veilguard, so, the bar is pretty low right now lol Here's to hoping we are given a fun new world!
