Am I the only #STLCards fan that liked Mike Shildt and thought he was unfairly terminated? He focused solely on fundamental baseball and had an incredible amount of respect for the organization. Most likely one of the biggest mistakes this FO has ever made.

So many “fans” saying #STLCards don’t defer money….they did in 2023 with Waino, paying him $7.5M, and will pay him $1M a year for the next 10 years. Holliday currently makes $1.5M a year until 2029, Arenado will make $3M a year from 2032-2041.

@GMan0212 What's sad is that I think they do care. But they're past their prime, and refuse to see it, so they keep trying to force something to work that simply won't. At one point they arguably had the most innovative FO in baseball. Now everyone else has caught up. It's over.

Part of being a manager is managing people and personalities as well. Dexter Fowler and Kolten Wong excelled under Shildt with his vote of confidence. Oli calling out O’Neill publicly was major Mike Matheny vibes.

In regards to Dan McLaughlin, from my POV as a recovering alcoholic: . Please just pray for him and his family. It’s a brutal disease. And yes, it’s a DISEASE and mental health issue. By the grace of God I am 8 months sober, but I too took a deep fall before I surrendered.

@pattietierney Shildt was the closest thing to a real manager since TLR. Guy was a George Kissell fanatic and knew the Cardinal Way playbook like no one else.

The amount of negativity and pessimism from #STLCards fans through this whole Arenado story is astonishing. Under Mozeliak, the Cardinals have never rebuilt, and have never had a losing record. And just because he won’t give up the farm, you all think he’s bad at his job. Wrong.

@GCWilson1989 I agreed with pushing back on Jeff Albert. Part of the reason the offense woke up and won 17 straight. Albert is a glorified analyst and scout who should have never been wearing a uniform or been in the dugout.

@austinnportzzz @MLB Cardinals are an aging mess? . Guessing prime Arenado (31 years old), Jordan Walker, Nolan Gorman, Tommy Edman, Jack Flaherty, Tyler O’Neill, Lars Nootbaar, Dylan Carlson, and Brendan Donovan (all under age 28) are old.

#STLCards fans are being a little too harsh on both @DexterFowler and @aliyafowler these days. Expecting a new baby any week now, and we can’t imagine what that’s like mentally for him, or her, when he’s just trying to do his job well, and then all these assholes chime in.

@Nado_SZN @katiejwoo He’s not on the team because of his bat. He’s the best overall defensive option in the OF right now and is the fastest player on the team with Scott in AAA. His value to the team is pretty high, so saying he “sucks” isn’t necessarily true.
