I'm also grateful to @Mark_A_Nakasone and @CharlCrowe for founding this annual series and its precursor @iSCEM_DD. It was an excellent idea, and I now know a fair amount of work (and we split it 4 ways!).
Finally, thanks to this year's organisers: YJ Chang, Éilís McClay, @MartinRennie11 and @jstreetley. We look forward to handing the baton over to @EdinburghUni (@mdrwilson lab 😉) to host us all next year.

@yushuv @SCMICryoEM Me neither. I haven't found a serial number or construction plate that says how old this one is yet. We had a similar one when I was a PhD student. It's cool to rehome this one, a couple of our users swear by the quality of carbon they get from these versus our modern Quorum one.

@don_dapper @GoBikeGlasgow @GlasgowCC I hope so. My worry is that was end of the chip seal/surface dressing process. They did something similar on Crown St a few years ago and it was left up to traffic to redistribute the excess stones onto the centre and pavement before they got swept up.

I'm looking for 3 people to join me as we build a new team @SCMICryoEM. The roles span all aspects of cryo-EM and will be user facing but I hope the expansion will also mean there is time for developing the facility and making sure we are wringing the most out of all our kit.
