I got inspired by 86-year-old Japanese woman who started learning to code at the age of 81 to make a game that she could not find on the App Store. Not only she finished making that game, she now works as a consultant for a company. And she learned SwiftUI! Don’t give up!
When I installed public beta of iOS 7 exactly 8 years ago. I was not even developing back then. You never know what life will bring. That time, I didn’t know what I exactly wanted to do with my life.
Discovered a Dad Joke API while on Twitter and decided to write a small app for it. It’s under review process. Will share once approved.
- UIKit
- async/await
- MVVM Coordinator pattern
Not much to the app. Just wanted to test my understanding of the MVVM-C and async/await.
Tonight, I learned to do network calls using Combine. Chain operators used to process the data by Publisher look a lot like modifiers in SwiftUI. Looks better than the old way when I had to write everything inside completionHandler. Recommended.
I would like to spend next 3-4 days to have a look at your indie apps and provide feedback. If you feel like sharing something, please provide me with your links to your apps.

I was on my feet at work from 7 to 4. Then did SwiftUI up until now. Not liking where I am now, but I am enjoying the journey to get there. I guess happiness is just a matter of quality of your thoughts and attitude...
I was going to take a quick 15-minute walk, but the weather was good, the scenery looked nice, and it was not crowded, so I turned it into a long walk.
Everyday I wake up at 6 to go to work and tell myself to get to bed early when I get home because I’m so tired. I get inspired by things throughout the day and then stay up until midnight to do my side project. Then same shit again next day.
Presented at Cocoaheads Toronto tonight. I think it's my first time presenting in front of many people in a long time. It went a lot better than I thought.
Working on something I totally believe in makes a big difference. I am excited to get up early to do this. I have zero hesitation to give more every day. I don’t worry about the outcome of the project. I just focus on doing my absolute best. It will be worth it in every way.
@HabitKit
is such a nice app! It’s great if you have many daily goals that you want to keep track of. I have lots of new year resolutions so this is perfect. And the UI is so beautiful too.
This weekend, I wrote app that sends you local notification about photo you took year ago. Used UIKit, Firebase, Photos, and Core Data. It was fun.

Day 21 of
#100DaysOfSwiftUI
Learned about using ForEach to stacking up buttons. Creating UIImage and UILabel and placing them inside UIButton was a pain in the butt. This is all it took for me to create stack of buttons in SwiftUI:
