Absolutely. I think of this as one no of it's cool the lab notebook's most powerful benefits.
Writing docs can be a great replacement for rubber ducking. When I'm stuck on a gnarly bug, I find that if I spend time to document why that chunk of code works they way it does, I get unblocked more than half the time. And, bonus: good docs! Does anybody else use this hack?
