@cjgbest and @hamishmckenzie: I'm a @SubstackInc bestseller and since Thursday all my list imports are "under review." Every time I import even just one address, it gets flagged. Can't get an answer as to why from support. I'm supposed to give a presentation to business leaders tomorrow telling them why I switched to Substack and why they should do as well. Meanwhile, I can't even add their email addresses to my list. Kinda nuts, don't you think? And no one will/can tell me why. Can you help???? Please......

@SubstackStatus all my manual list uploads are now "under review." Can't get a straight answer from support as to why. I'm supposed to give a seminar tomorrow telling business leaders why to join Substack, and I can't even get my lists to import. What gives???

Jesus asked 307 questions. He was asked 183. He answered (maybe) 8. Be like Jesus.

Would you take a 40% pay cut? @BillyHallowell is one of the country’s premier reporters, focusing on issues of faith, politics, and culture. He’s interviewed everyone from the president to leading atheists. He’s also the author of four books. But when he was trying to decide what to do with his life and expressed an interest in journalism, more than one person told him, “that was stupid.” Luckily for us, Billy didn’t listen. In Episode 10 of “That Was Stupid,” Billy joins to talk about: -His wild journey to the top, including taking a 40% pay cut -How he dealt with the doubters -His favorite story -Listening to God’s voice -How someone you might recognize actually helped turbo his career -The time he “manifested a demon” -And more! You’ve got to hear these stories! 👇

Want to know what an alcoholic looks like? Here’s the picture. I have been a professing Christian for as long as I can remember, and yet I became an alcoholic. I’ve worked with some of the biggest Christian names and outlets, and yet I developed a drinking problem. Full-blown. I’ve spent mornings talking about God on a podcast, and afternoons drunk on Gin. I’ve hosted and led a church small group buzzed. I’ve had a phone conversation with an elder after two drinks too many. And I’ve tried to cover it all up, lying to my wife and sacrificing time with my family in the process. Like Paul, I am the chief of sinners — but in my case, of sloshed sinners. Me, the man who spent time on staff at a church. Me, the “bestselling Christian author.” Me, the faith and mental health guy. Me, yes me. I am a Christian alcoholic. And there’s more of us than you realize. #alcohol #alcoholism #recovery #sober #sobriety #subercurious

Embarrassed. Scared. Free. At peace. Those are the words that describe me right now as I admit to you what's been going on the last year of my life: I am a recovering alcoholic. Addiction doesn't care who (bestselling author) or what (a Christian) you are. And it can sneak up on anyone. But God... While this last year has been the hardest of my life, it has also been the sweetest. Why have I been talking so much about faith and spirituality this year? Because it's the only thing that got me through the pain and the shame. It saved me -- again. If you want to know the full story, you can check it out below. There will be much more to say in the days, weeks, and even years ahead. And I'm an open book. But know this: if you're struggling, you are my people. I am your person. There is hope.

THIS is what faith leaders like John MacArthur need to understand. Instead, they're dabbling in this idea of Gnosticism, which is a false belief that incorrectly elevates the spiritual over the physical. Mental health issues are BOTH physical AND spiritual.

Additional note on the @johnmacarthur issue: My full thoughts are in the article I wrote. My initial tweet yesterday I’ve deleted in favor of the full article. I’m much more measured in it than I was in my initial (passionate) reaction, especially to Costi Hinn. (I apologize for the “shame on him” comment. That was too far.) Open to thoughts, disagreements, and discussion! 👇👇👇
