is bad for their swing. It’s not all about feel good front toss! How silly do you sound saying, “My 25MPH underhand flip is all you need to hit 85+ w/ movement and off-speed.”
We just paid $1800 for my team to play 4 games.. sort of.
G 1 - 11-0 W (4.5 inn MERCY RULE)
G 2 - 4-1 L (5.5 inn TIME LIMIT)
G 3 - 3-3 T (3.5 inn RAIN)
G 4 - 12-0 W (3.5 inn OTHER TEAM QUIT)
17 innings total.. the ⚾️ industry needs help.
I don’t understand players who show up to baseball games/tournaments and play like they don’t want to be there. Why even show up? Do everyone a favor and stay home if you aren’t going to compete!
Too many HS baseball players are under the assumption that if they play summer ball, they’re going to college. Instead, try working your tail off and earn it. You have to skip things you want now for the “dreams” you want later.
Want to play college/pro ball? You don’t need to go to more camps. You don’t need to play more games. You don’t need to post more to social media. You NEED play like you LOVE the game! Play hard. Be tough. Be gritty. Be selfless. College coaches are tired of “showcase players”.
Everyone and their momma thinks they can run a baseball facility. To the group that came in yesterday and huddled up away from me and my staff to discuss which things to copy and how you can compete... don’t worry. You can’t. 😊
I spend so much time coaching ⚾️players who aspire to play at the next level... I rarely come across kids who show up to games to whoop some a$$. Those that do are the ones being recruited. Remember: In the age of “showcase”, scouts are still looking for winners.
No thanks. I’ll never say any coach is just wrong because every athlete will connect the dots differently. But when it’s taught as the secret/the only way... it’s best to stay away.
Kids are being “re-classed” and playing their junior year as old as 18. At the end of my junior year of HS, I was still 16..
I can’t imagine playing travel ball against kids 2 years younger than me. Where do we draw the line?
It’s kinda like men competing against women to win
Another day of travel ball, another 14 year old pitcher gets abused and throws 116 pitches. 🤦♂️ Coaches, parents, and tournament directors - it’s time we put an end to this stupidity.
The level of entitlement and lack of respect for coaches and teammates is at an all time high in amateur sports. I would’ve never thought to skip practices and miss games. But you still expect to play every inning and bat 3rd.. 🤷♂️ make it make sense!
Very excited to announce our little family is about to grow by one! Hannah surprised me after a game in spring training with a pregnancy test (well.. 4) and a little baby outfit. We can’t wait to welcome our first child in early January! 👶 🍼
Wish there was a stat on # of travel ball kids who are “studs” at <16yrs old end up plateauing as a result of the “play for us for free, you’re a stud” recruiting. Let’s try the “take accountability and continue to progress w/ grit and determination bc you’re not that good” plan
I’m very excited to announce I’ll begin leading the Southern Athletics Baseball Organization (
@SA_Showcase
) as CEO/Director of Player Development.

My passion is serving the needs of…
If you are the 13u team that brought in a pitcher to throw for you last weekend & threw him 84 pitches Saturday + 92 pitches Sunday, for a total of 176 pitches in 2 days.. you should be ashamed.
Do umpires realize how disrespectful it is to the game when they make comments about “getting the game over with” / AKA having an enormous strike zone to speed it up? Y’all may get away with poor performances but players don’t. If you don’t want to be here, go home!
All my peeps: Give this man a follow. Refreshing to see other coaches hungry to learn and adapting. Great content. Whenever I’m back on the player development side, he will be one of the first I try to bring along with me! Unless he’s already snatched up by sum1 🧐
@mlb

For all my

guys... you know you’re welcome to come train and stay in shape

(no charge) while the country figures this out... while I do think this is an overreaction, I want to make sure to do my part helping those who continue to chase their dreams.
I made a post recently about taking the time to show fans our appreciation. Not long after, I had this email forwarded to me. Thank you to this man who emailed our front office with a few kind words. It’s great to hear we had a positive impact on you and your daughter!
You don’t really WANT to play ⚾️ past high school if you don’t love ⚾️ enough to work at it every day! This culture of pick up/play travel ball every wknd, only throw during the week for your “bullpen” lesson, hit 0-2x, & no strength training has to 🛑
#GetStrong
#GetBetter
You clowns that sell fake dreams to kids and their parents to recruit them to pick up and play travel ball games (without practicing with the kids or bringing any real value) are in trouble when real baseball guys get fed up and start coming for you.
#changeiscoming
Slow down and take some time to be grateful for the people who love you. They won’t be here forever. To simply “play catch” with my dad hasn’t been an option for 10 yrs. While some think their dad is annoying/embarrassing, I’d give up a lot for one more game of catch with dad.
This is my dad, who has been diagnosed with MS, giving up his time on a day he took off, to sit down and throw to me the best he could, to help me chase a goal I have. He’s not on Twitter, but he’s my hero
Being better than average requires you to do more. You have to make time for the things that are important. So many of you think you will get to play at the next level, but you somehow think you’re going to get there without spending countless hours dedicated to getting better...
We get it - you had success and made it to the MLB without tech and think it’s pointless. However, the next wave of ML’ers will support the extra information for years to come. No matter how hard we fight to keep things the same, the world around us will still evolve.
#AdaptOrDie
Players - Not in the lineup or at the position you want? You need to GET BETTER. Stop quitting. Stop finding another team. PARENTS - not everyone can play at the same time. Some kids sit more than others. If it’s your kid, encourage them to work harder and earn it.
This is very true.. most cases they aren’t compensated well enough/deserve much more. It’s easy for kids/parents to complain about HS coaches, but it’s difficult to find great men&leaders willing 2 work tirelessly 4 much less than they r worth. B grateful for the ☝️you’ve got!
High school baseball coaches are some of the hardest working dudes on the planet. They’re the groundskeeper, Director of Ops, and CFO of their programs. In between those duties, the good ones find time to train and develop players.
I’m honestly not that worried about who gets in office. I’m more worried about people’s responses to not getting what they want and throwing hissy fits. Americans have become soft...
#Election2020
Battled til the very end.
First winning season since 2009.
Thank you seniors — Hudson, James, & Cody — for leaving this program better than when you stepped into it.
Forever grateful!
🫡 FOR THE “G”
Players: as you get into summer ball, prioritize your weight room routines!! Strength and durability are two massive keys to your success at the next level.
Most COVID hospitalizations in the US were overweight/obese. If it were really about health, they would be encouraging healthy diet & exercise, not isolating everyone & offering free 🍔 for getting vax.. Out here treating adults like kids w/ ice cream cones for obeying.
It makes me want to 🤢 when parents take the fun out of baseball for their little leaguers by worrying about showcasing and college scholarships. News flash: you’d have a bigger scholarship for your kid if you saved $1 a day starting right now.
#makebaseballfunagain
@SloanShuler
This is great
@tannerswanson
👏. The point about arm movement/umpire is not true. Sorry Sloan.. I understand the idea, but more variables to consider. ..Hate the stance?? 😳 what’s the issue there??
Playoff time for
@Greer_Baseball
‼️
(14-10) First winning season in 14 years.
Team Offense:
24 G, .340 AVG, 222 H, 183 R, 53 SB
POY: James Shennan
Pitching: 48.0 INN , 8-1, 59 K, 11 BB, 1.02 ERA
Hitting: .488 AVG, 1.240 OPS, 19 RBI, 18 SB
Regardless of how much it makes you feel better to take credit for the success of a player.. if you weren’t there during the sweat and hard work, you’re not impacting lives, you’re using them to make yourself look better.

If you don’t REALLY know the game, leave HS kids alone with your BS advice. So many non-baseball minds polluting youth baseball because they want to say they made the kid a star.

WHL Week 1 (2 games):
❄️
@Cole437
leads the league both with a peak Exit Velocity of 100.9 MPH and an average EV of 92.4 MPH.

@CadeNorton
leads the league with 11 home runs. Yes, you read that right.

Y’all are wild with the lies you’re telling kids to convince them to play for your organization… Fortunately
@baseball_ref
exists. So when you say you were D1/pro but your name turns up no results, or your “MLB time” was really rookie ball.. you look like a doofus.
How many dads are still out there creating teams for their son to play SS on?? I thought that was a 10u thing.. not HS. 🤷♂️
You aren’t serious about playing at the next level if you would rather “play with your buddies”.
In all seriousness... as a business owner, I’m fearful for the possibility of my facility once again being shut down. If you’re in my area and considering our
@_17CO_
Winter League, I’d be very grateful for any support we can get right now.
#Election2020
It’s not even Thanksgiving and organizations are telling kids they have to commit to their team immediately or lose their spot.. could you be any more insecure and money hungry???
Have a great weekend of baseball everyone! Even the ones who never show up to practice, quit on their teammates, and/or use our facility and play for a season but skip out on all your payments.
If you needed to fix your computer, would you call a plumber? No..
So why pay for instruction w/ someone who never played beyond HS, never took the time to learn from experts, and/or has no history of accomplishments in their new chosen field of expertise? 🤷♂️

What’d all of us do before Twitter? Take your offers, accept the one you want, announce that one and feel free to thank the other schools for the time they invested in you.
Twitter blowing up with
@tatis_jr
3-0 Grand Slam/unwritten rules nonsense - keep doing your thing kid. Don’t apologize. But may want to sit slider next time you’re 3-0 😆
That being said, this is a small reason for concern... Over 128k new votes in MI and 100% of them went to Biden? Regardless of your vote, you have to find this strange. Hopefully this is inaccurate...
High school coaches who pressure their players to play for them in the summer but can’t/won’t do anything for them to help with college recruiting are the worst.
It’s crazy how many players and parents show up to
@_17co_
and expect to walk in, use hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment, pay $0, and leave without even saying thank you. Luckily, the number of great families outweighs the others by far!
Great weekend with
@USAPrimeNat
13U! Amazing group of kids & parents! Competed & learned all weekend despite a tough schedule. A few players had flight delays & barely got to sleep before game 1 & 2 but still earned the 8-seed out of 64 teams. Proud of the boys!!
@Marc_NellistJr
Some of you orgs need to stop recruiting players with free rides to form your teams. Maybe try coaching them and training them. You’re killing the game.
#CultureWins
(maybe not the travel tournament trophy, but the development of the person and player is more important)
It’s a shame there’s no accountability for umpires in this league. I’ve never heard so many unacceptable comments made from umps to the players.. they put that costume on and get power hungry. Any other job and the bad ones would get fired.
So close we can practically taste it.
@JohnNester17
blasted a career-best 16 home runs with the Railroaders in 2019, most among American Association catchers!
When you have a HS player hitting 100+mph EV and hitting balls 400+ ft after months of work, and HS coach tells him it looks like he’s trying too hard to drive the ball and has to start “punching down on the ball”. (After going deep first game)
Bad time to be a small business owner. It’s also a bad time to play a professional sport. So I guess it’s a really bad time for a pro athlete/business owner trying to pay the bills. Good job choices, John. 🤷♂️😂

If only it were about commitment on both ends (team/org and player) and getting your own players better rather than selling BS to kids and families to bring in better talent, then take credit for their success when you literally had nothing to do with it.
(5) I say all that, to say this: no matter how hard things get. No matter who tells you that you can’t do it... Work your ass off, trust your heart, and don’t give up. Find the right people to surround yourself with, and don’t look back.
(3) I have a degree from
@ClemsonUniv
. I have stepped away from a “big time” coaching position with a
@MLB
org. All to spend more time with family, and prove that ⚾️ adjustments can be made and you can become the player you want to be. I hit 18 professional HR over 5 years...
When the season starts, that doesn’t mean it’s time to stop training and ditch the weight room. That’s a quick ticket to a strong start and mid-season fall-off.
Every year on the baseball field, I see something I’ve never seen before. This guy umpired some high level ‘24-‘25 baseball last week. Big time college programs in attendance, kids chasing dreams, and a guy (who clearly lied on his resume to get hired) hiding 🫣 behind his 🛡️
It’s sad to see coaches riding the coat tails of kids in middle school to make a name for themselves. We are supposed to develop and mentor these kids, not treat them like MLB stars and shop them around to make things better for yourself.

I’m extremely grateful for all the great families I’ve had a chance to serve in ⚾️. While running a gym and teams, I have to say one of the worst parts is tryouts… It sucks telling a kid he didn’t make it. I love to help everyone. So remember…

is open to all!!
If we are able to easily identify the instructor that a kid works with based on his swing, there’s a 99.9% chance that instructor’s unique style of teaching a cookie cutter swing is garbage and you need to get away from him ASAP!

coach says competition is...
(1) Nobody is perfect... but, I try my best to truly help and love every player I come in contact with. Sometimes, I fail as a coach, but I guarantee you that your son’s growth as a man and ball player, is never taken lightly... And I don’t fail at being there for them.
Nowhere in these “unwritten rules” does it say, “Stop trying to move up bases in the 4th inning”. Shut up. Leave the kid alone. He’s a superstar. You’re not going to take the fun out of his game. Get over it.

Could’ve ejected Nawrocki for the elbow, arguably should’ve ejected Caglianone for going back at him.
A lot of times they choose to eject a player who wasn’t initially involved and is determined to have escalated this
Calling 2025/2026 pitchers!! We are looking for a couple arms for our upperclass fall teams.
If you’re looking for a place to continue to develop AND be recruited, DM me. We helped 17 players in our 2024 class get an opportunity to play college baseball.
The most disrespectful thing you can say about or to an athlete is they’re lucky to be talented. If you think it was luck to get where they got versus YEARS of hard work and dedication... you probably aren’t very “talented” at whatever you do.
