The real downfall of music videos was YouTube. Now, there's almost no way to get a ROI for artists unless you sell a ton of records, which most artists do not. Videos with the same level of production as back in the day cost $100K-$500K.
I think losing 106& park was the start to the downfall of music videos

Yes! Kendrick doesn't have a whole lot of songs with an easy to follow melody so I can understand why some didn't get it.
