Postage Stamps: This was the site of progress. A time when we could jot missives, love letters, and pen poetic reflections. Playing Romeo was effortless. It was a past untouched by emojis—a time when words carried weight, sealed in envelopes and sent with hope. Instead of instant messages, we wished our letters could fly like jumbo jets. Hail the post office!

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. As a tea farmer, I have seen some benefits. First, I have my voice. Secondly, I can question without being blocked from selling my tea leaves. Third, farmers now know their rights. Fourth, continued attempts by KTDA to revive cartels and create sleaze spaces will be a continuing battle. And fifth, we, as farmers are now vigilants. Didn’t you see how Githambo got its money?

As young journalists, we came to know Judy Thongori as more than just a lawyer—she was our trusted voice of reason, the one we turned to for insightful commentary and a broader perspective. For those of us reporting on human rights, she was a beacon, consistently providing clarity and depth on the stories that mattered most. Her wisdom and warmth were matched only by her unwavering commitment to justice. She was always a joy to work with, her presence both reassuring and inspiring. Judy’s legacy will live on, not only in the cases she championed but in the countless lives she touched. Rest in peace, Judy. You will be deeply missed
