Hitters hit!
Opening weekend for this group! Vikings finished up the weekend at the JUCO Kickoff Classic going 3-1. The offense led the way with 8 players combining to hit 15 HR led by Alyssa Vallad (4), Bailey LeGere (3), Princess Arredondo (2) and Carley Jagiello (2).

Players don’t not choose JUCO because they wouldn’t have 4 years left afterwards. They don’t choose it because they’re not built for it. It’s more cool to post that Gameday TikTok with the big logo on it whether they play or not.

For those that claim to be “advocates” for JUCO, you need separate the 4 year (NCAA D1, D2, D3, NAIA, etc) options from 2 year (JUCO) options. Then learn the values and potential future opportunities that JUCO provides to MOST athletes. And it’s not just “you get to play early”

Happy Thanksgiving! Thankful for all the travel ball coaches that understand the value of JUCO and present it as a viable option to their players. There’s only about 3 of you but we appreciate yall!

Recruits - no matter what level you play, the day you commit you’re not good enough to start on that team. The first day you step foot on that campus you’re not ready to play for that team. We recruit you to get better not for what you are.

Talk to some out of state recruits that say if they decide to go JUCO they will stay in their home state, which is kind of understandable. However, leaving the state you played HS/travel ball and didn’t get the offers you wanted, would allow you to get some different eyes on you!

@pbbsoftball First off “Participants” don’t make it to that level. Both teams competed for sure but one team had more fun. I guarantee you every player on that Florida team would trade any of the personal successes in that game for a win. As a spectator, sure it was a fun game to watch.

Some of the best information you can get on your players (and team) is to give them two “on your own” days before a five day Thanksgiving break.
