Looks as if we’ve went back a 100 years, instead of forward a 100 years.
Gorbals Cross, 1910. A council delegation visited Paris in 1866, 6 years before the Cross was built, & perhaps that explains the layout: buildings set at angles to form a diamond-shaped plaza, the vista to the cross terminated by a drinking fountain & clock. Nothing of it remains
