I love playing Siege Ranked at Gold-Plat elo. Everyone has pro-tier drones, as I never find any and I'm always getting prefired / pushed with full confidence. Then when attacking, I'm getting full contested at every entrance before setting foot in the map. One day I'll be better!

I believe everyone who still regularly plays Siege cares deeply about its success. With all the ideas to improve / fix the game, it's important to consider the time and place when implementing them. I'm glad the dev team chose to wait until after SI to make the big changes.
An Actual Take: If you're playing Rainbow Six Siege in 2022, you aren't a "casual" player. It's been out for seven years. If you stick with a game for anywhere near that amount of time you aren't "casual", you just aren't competitive. Not everything is a binary.

No matter what maps are in the pool, if the operator ban phase was opened up to 6-8 bans, even older maps would feel fresh in strategy, while highlighting teams with strong prep and a more flexible playstyle.
