This slogan sounds adorable (and it is!) but more specifically it's mocking "a day without orange juice is like a day without sunshine" which was the slogan Anita Bryant used in her tv commercials for orange juice. She was a vocal anti-gay activist in the 70s
Apparently they just addressed the Chekov translator thing in the lower decks mobile game and IDK if this was added after my comic went viral but I'm so obsessed with him. Canon now. star trek please hire me
Some of my favorite books go over gay slang from the 70s-90s and my favorite one is Dutch Girl is a camp term for lesbian. Because they have dikes in Holland. it's so funny

I know this is a silly drawing and not about the horrors of the human condition or whatever but I have a damaged nerve in my drawing arm and I feel this so much
odo's great because he's the "alien who's still learning about the world around him" trope except instead of a beautiful 20something woman he's a grumpy old man

"never shade with black" is some of the worst art advice i've ever seen. i also got "don't line with black" a few times in the days when paint tool SAI was popular, as if they've never read a comic book before.
@Rawnzilla
It's March, 1963. I have just purchased The Amazing Spider-Man

. I'm tired of looking at the comic book now. I open my fingers. It falls to the sand at my feet. I am going to look at the stars.
the misinterpretation of sisko as a grumpy serious captain are so weird to me. like i know why people do it (because they're racist) but he isnt even a little bit? hes level headed because he's an important leader but he's a kindly dad sort of character. and he does have fun
@CapsComics
This is SUCH a good thread. Cap stands for justice - not blindly following orders, but genuinely what is good. He's what we should all try to be. I've seen so many people missing his point lately.
I'm part of Drawings for Gaza, a charity art stream for injured civilians in Palestine. People who help us raise money get to request what we draw next.

For ten pages of artwork including scripting, lettering, and coloring, every single person who submits should be earning the "grand prize" of $350 per page.
girl tried to lecture me about gay politics recently and said "you cant say butch if you're bisexual" and i told her "i think gay dudes used it a lot in the 80s" which i knew specifically because i used to read a lot of vintage porno cartoons
it's not funny but it kind of is funny that rick berman has an entire section of his memory alpha wiki article about him being homophobic. my mortal enemy
Cannot stop thinking about the like 7 year old kid who came into the shop today who said he was looking for Venom comics and when I asked him what made Venom his favorite he says "He's buff and he has the mouth"
obsessed with how odo quark and garak were all there in the terok nor days and they're all like, three gay old men who hate their lives but live here anyways
[quark voice] i HATE odo thats why i climbed a mountain in the freezing cold for days without food, while i carried him on a stretcher i made for his broken leg, while hes wearing a splint that i made. and i let him wear the only life jacket to keep him warm
i think arguing about the morals of ds9 characters is silly because they're all awful and really good at the same time. except for dukat we hate that bitch
odos character just makes more sense if he is gay. why else would he be so repressed and grumpy all the time. and him trying quite literally to imitate other people but being ashamed of what he really is. listen to me
