Public money should fund public schools. Indiana spent roughly $439 million on its voucher program for the 2023-24 school year. Nearly all of the private schools accepting vouchers in Indiana are parochial.
Taxpayer money meant for public education shouldn’t fund private religious schools, for the same reason that taxpayer money meant for public parks shouldn’t fund private pools in a megachurch pastor’s backyard.
If religious schools want taxpayer money, they should pay taxes.

Congratulations to one of the best educators and administrators I know. I’m so sad for HSE but happy for the students & staff in WTS.
We are excited to announce Dr. Crystal Thorpe as our new Director of Teaching and Learning for Grades 6-8. Dr. Thorpe’s appointment was approved during last night’s WT Board of Education meeting and will be effective starting in the 2024-25 school year.

Finished up our 3rd night of ‘meet the teacher’ (25 teachers!), a resounding pledge I heard was besides rigorous academics, our Ts are focused on the whole child. Lots of creative ways to check on our Ss mental heath.
