Alright turf Twitter. Let’s see how many replies we can get. Post your favorite picture you’ve taken at your current course or previous courses. I’ll go first. Hole 12 Highlands at Atlanta Athletic Club.
If perfection was a picture then this is it. One thing I paid attention to was how tedious the bunker process was during my volunteer time at East Lake. Haven’t seen bunkers that look this good in a long time
Year 2 at Sawgrass. Swag bag is lovely. Looking forward to a week of great memories, networking and learning! Should be a special one! As always, it’s a great day to volunteer😉😉
First off I just want to say thank you to everyone who has had an influence in my career. Whether it be superintendents I’ve worked for or who have been kind enough to give me advice along the way. I appreciate all of you. (1/3)
The comments on this are crazy because people who aren’t knowledgeable about turf think he’s “softening” the green by hand water not realizing it’s a spritz to keep the turf alive🤦🏾♂️
Officially one month down as a golf course superintendent. Things are slowly but surely coming together. Getting more crew guys hired and finally got an assistant hired. Spray packages implemented and standards/expectations set. Stay tuned for the journey!
As my days at Atlanta Athletic Club come to an end I just want to say what an amazing experience it has been. From an intern to an assistant. I have enjoyed every minute. With that being said, I have accepted the lead assistant position
@SQCCAgronomy
and can’t wait to start!
Truly blessed that I have accepted the 2nd assignment position at Atlanta Athletic Club on the Highlands course where I did my internship last summer. Looking forward to being back!
Life update: last year I made it my goal to become a golf course superintendent by the age of 30. I’ve officially accomplished that. Next goal, Director of Agronomy. Good to finally cross a goal off the list.
Tournament week prep day 2. Pretty smooth week so far. Course is looking phenomenal. As always, it’s a great day to volunteer😉. Also, I think
@THEPLAYERS
should make this their official tournament picture👀🤷🏾♂️
‘Twas another fun tournament. Was a pleasure to be apart of the 2024 The Players Championship. Was an awesome week with some awesome people. Until we meet again
@TPCSawgrass

First week
@CabotCitrus
in the books. Was a great and productive first week. Whole property is amazing and I look forward to what we can accomplish over the next few years. Should be fun!
Cleanup continues at Cabot. Finally mowing and getting the courses ready for play tomorrow. Few more minor things to tidy up but the courses are coming along perfect after the storm.
Overseeded all tees and practice area this year. Ryegrass is popping. One more application of seed to fill in thin area and then some granular fert and tees will be popping.
Alright turf Twitter. Time to make some noise again. Post a picture of your favorite turf type that you’ve worked with or would like to work with and why. I’ll go first. Zoysia by far has been my favorite turf type to work with.
(2/3). I wouldnt be in this position without a select few individuals who have personally had a hand in molding my career. You guys are very appreciated. With that being said, I have officially accepted my first golf course superintendent job
@CabotCitrus
.
Tournament day round 1. Weather looks good and the course is priming up to be perfect. As
@BorRazu13

Final day at Savannah Quarters. Although my time has been short, I’ve learned so much. Being here has allowed me to hone my skills and develop and grow especially in the social media space. I’m super excited to be joining the team
@CabotCitrus

(3/3). I’m super excited for this opportunity to join

Verticut on greens this morning followed by a backtrack mow and brushing it all in with the salsco. Another day in paradise. It’s a great day to have a great day🫡
Morning stroll around the course with the assistant golf course superintendent Max checking on things. Mow on greens with cleanup and knocking out bunkers and mowing range tees. As always, it’s a great day to grow grass😉
Calm Saturday morning out on the course. Very productive week this week. Course is improving everyday and the crew is absolutely killing it. Looking forward to another busy week next week.
My very lovely girlfriend purchased this for me as an early Valentines Day gift. Anybody read this? And any other good golf course book recommendations?
Another day another spray. Cloudy Friday morning with rain moving in so getting a fungicide out on greens. Better to be proactive than reactive. As always, it’s a great day to grow grass😉
🚨 ASSISTANT SPOTLIGHT!🚨
Jeremiah Mincey-assistant superintendent at Atlanta Athletic Club Highlands a course gained his love for the industry at Georgia Southern University’s golf course which led him to intern at Atlanta Athletic Club in 2021.
Everybody meet the newest addition to the turf family. This is my little guy Max. He’ll be running around the club and chasing geese really soon😉

In the words of
@BorRazu13
