"Cybersecurity is like deodorant, those who need it the most never seem to realize it" I blurted this out on a call this week, its been haunting me ever since.

I have had a few inquiries if I was ok, since I haven't really posted much on FB, BSKY, X, LI, IG in the past 2 months, sporadic at best. So here is an explanation :-) tl;dr --> I have gone dark on all socials. Not turning my personal socials off, but definitely scaling back to zero. Need me? Signal or email's your best bet. Building something out of this world ---------------------------------------------------- Why? : Excitement Sure, my all-nighter game isn't what it used to be, but you will find me at 3:30 AM every night for weeks now, pushing this new thing creation forward, figuring out what's possible right this second, never losing sight of where this is going. When I finally show what I've been cooking up... you'll get why I'm excited. Of course the great team and I at are still doing awesome things, increasing every day our telemetry ingestion, scaling upwards, helping many many firms. Yes its like I am working 2 or 3 jobs LOL So you wonder, what is this Jim is working on? This thing I am super excited about is going to take 100 levels above our competitors. Just like how I originally started Milton, all bootstrap, this is what we are doing with this new from within Stow the scuttlebutt and turn to ! N.W.

All: I had planned on going to Hacker on a Hill and Shmoocon again this year in Washington, DC, but I won’t be able to make it. I’ll truly miss seeing everyone, catching up, and sharing laughs and ideas. What makes this even sadder is that it’s the final year of Shmoocon. It’s been such a unique and inspiring event over the years, and it’s hard to imagine our community without it. To everyone attending, make the most of it, savor every moment, and cherish the memories you’ll create.

Tomorrow is first official workday for me (even though I have been working through holidays without let up, but still tomorrow is the official workday) Guess I should get at least 4 hours of nap time before the hustle and bustle starts HAPPY 2025 to everyone !

first take on the letter to congress from the US Treasury is I noticed that the disclosure says they were notified Dec 8, 2024 by BeyondTrust, but how long was the APT in their systems before that? Without a timeline, it's impossible to gauge the real impact. Also what other customers of BeyondTrust are affected by this?
