I’m very pro horseys in hospital but this morning at the end of 4 super busy nights I got a 5 minute patronising lecture about how I was a ‘naughty boy’ for wearing my theatre cap in the corridor between labour ward and main theatres. Ya gotta make it all make sense guyssss

parade just marched past my house. One of them tutted at me and asked if I’d done my research when I declined a flyer. I said I was a doctor and he laughed, said “doctors are dumb as shit” and threw in a homophobic slur to me and my friend for good measure.

Shoutout to my trust for successfully working out exactly how many hours to deduct for the days I was on strike last month but still not working out how to correct the fact I’ve only been paid around £15 per month for all the nights I’ve done over the past 9 months 🫠🫠

Banned from hospital accommodation! I live a 75 mile drive from my current hospital. How are these companies able to just remove your access as a trainee from a safe place to rest after long days or nights and finish it with a Kind Regards?!

Trust name redacted as the accom manager is always helpful and I feel like it’s unfair on her - she is clearly just following the rules set by her employer. The rooms should be free. The keys should be easy to just pick up at the last minute. They shouldn’t be able to ban you.

Once I picked up a key without booking first. Got a warning. I was also always pretty slow to pay for the emergency rooms most of the time as I was straight back into on-calls and used to pay once i felt alive again the other side of my on calls. Hardly crime of the century.

Well exactly … the department I’m in at the moment has super supportive bosses so I’m confident they’ll sort it on my behalf before my weekend nights but it’s just mad they can even do this in the first place 🤯

Slammed with referrals tonight. Told an ED Cons I was ‘Gen Surg’ which prompted a 2 min lecture on how unprofessional it was to say ‘Gen Surg’ vs ‘General Surgery’ and how I should conduct myself in a more professional way in future. CAN WE ALL JUST BE NICE TO EACH OTHER 😫😫
