@LarrySabato Every single day of this current era - I’m reminded of this quote. “The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubt, while the stupid people are full of confidence.”. —Charles Bukowski.

It’s not the job of a President to destroy leftism (or rightism). You can advance your policies without regard for the other side’s views. But the President has no business using government power to try and “destroy” his political enemies. Huge warning sign.
DESANTIS: “If I’m the nominee, I will beat Biden. I will serve two terms and I will be able to DESTROY leftism in this country.”. “I’ve shown in Florida an ability to win huge swaths of voters…while also delivering the boldest agenda anywhere in the country.”

Let’s apply Occam’s razor here. If 90% of the people you worked with think you’re unfit, what’s the simpler explanation? That they’re all part of some grand, coordinated conspiracy fueled by bitterness and resentment? Or that you just happen to f*cking suck at being president.
Former President Trump had 44 cabinet secretaries. 40 of them don’t support his 2024 campaign. Neither does his Vice President nor any of his former chiefs of staff.

I voted for Biden and I am not ashamed to say it. But I would not fly a Biden banner at a baseball game because it’s a baseball game and not a political rally. And I’m not in a political cult.
University of Arkansas police cutting down a pro Trump flag at the Ole Miss vs Arkansas baseball game last night. The problem in America right now. You don’t express what the media wants you to, you are silenced. @ClayTravis @CollinRugg

If you watch just one of these Republicans against Trump videos - this is the one.
Y'all - check out this new @RVAT2020 video from Tommy - replete with a perfect West Texas accent. Tommy voted for Trump, has never voted for a Democrat in his life, but this year he'll be supporting @JoeBiden. "Look this is nuts. We've had enough." - @Used_To_Be_GOP

Go to the 1:50 mark and watch how @jaketapper turns into a junkyard bulldog before our eyes. He doesn’t get bullied. He doesn’t get thrown off. He never relents. 23 times he asks the question. This should be the template for interviewing Trump.

When you love a man so much that you seem to kind of be hoping for a disease to take hold in America as it might take the heat off your guy - it’s probably time to take a moment and reflect on what you’ve become.
It’s a nightmare to consider and pray they don’t arrive, but more cases of coronavirus in the U.S. and news cycle fixated on pre-ordained result in Senate trial will at least be dented if not broken. People care much more for their health than theater.

Let’s be honest. What Trump did around the 2020 election should have been enough to consign anyone to political oblivion. The idea that Kamala Harris, a conventional liberal Democrat, is such an unbearable alternative that one could simply ignore Trump’s offenses is absurd.
Let’s be honest here. What Trump did on January 6th was morally reprehensible, truly unforgivable and insanely wrong! But we have to be honest with ourselves. Kamala Harris is a fucking idiot! When China invades, I’d rather have a scoundrel at the helm than a literal retard. 😂.

Biden is an imperfect candidate. Especially for someone like me that lands to his right. But he’s a good and decent man & ive never been more sure of anything in my life regarding him being the much better man and much better candidate this November.
Trump fires the inspector general who called the whistleblower complaint on Ukraine an urgent manner. on a Friday night during a pandemic. Amazing.

This is likely why there is no Fauci on the stage.
BREAKING: Dr. Fauci is warning Trump officials NOT to listen to growing push among WH advisers, GOP lawmakers to restart the economy. But Trump is alarmed by stock market & impact of high unemployment for 2020 election -- & weighing easing restrictions.

I’ve probably had 1,000 discussions on this. I certainly could have written in someone or voted for Amash. But the fact is - only one of the two major candidates was going to win. I felt the danger of 4 more years of Trump outweighed the danger of 4 years of policy I won’t like.
@HeathMayo You could have voted for Amash or written in a vote. You didn't. You voted for a Democrat. I'm going to remind you of this every time you pull your dumb fuck conservative principles first act.

Trump rallies are filled with falsehoods. Tons of them. Not a single one seems to bother Professor Turley. But Walz cracks a joke and Turley needs a fainting couch. They cannot not handle it when people play by their rules.
Not a promising start for campaign tenor. Gov. Walz just referred to the false couch claim involving Vance. He referred Vance on a couch and said "he really did that" before adding that he is "weird as hell.". .

I don’t know how anybody could think this is not mass insanity. This isn’t bad ideas. This isn’t unacceptable policy ideas. It is mass insanity.
According to CBS News polling, "If a candidate says Joe Biden did not win, Republicans say they're more likely to vote for that candidate by a very wide margin," says @SalvantoCBS, giving context as to why Rep. Liz Cheney is struggling at the polls in Wyoming tonight.

To me - what should be the biggest red flag in the world is all the people that previously worked for Trump warning us off Trump like he’s the plague.
Mark Esper on the threat of a second Trump term: . “He wanted to deploy active-duty troops on the street of Washington, D.C., and suggested actually that we shoot Americans in the street. That's kind of more of what you'll see.” (2023).

@mariahmocarey @gh14hinojosa5 @washingtonpost I think 2 things. 1) institutional racism does exist. 2) when an a Ivy League educated writer tweets about the personal joy she feels after being cruel to “old white men” - it’s hard to see that as anything but overtly racist.

I am 100% sure that Harris will push policy I don’t like. It’s too bad the Republicans made me vote for her by nominating someone that tried to overturn an election.
@varadmehta He’s a “Haley voter for Harris” who will bitch and moan about Harris every day while she is in office. I am interested to see how people like Liz Cheney and the others react when Harris is pushing through legislation they spent their whole careers and lives denouncing.

This pretty much settles it then. His resignation predated the alert orders.
- May 2005, Tim Walz retires from the National Guard.- July 2005, his unit receives alert orders for deployment .- September 2005, unit goes to Camp Shelby to prepare for deployment.- March 2006, unit deploys . w/ @jeremyherb .

@gh14hinojosa5 @washingtonpost That’s a pretty narrow definition of racism. It excludes a powerful individual member of a minority group showing racial bias toward a powerless individual who happens to be of the same race as the group “in power”.

I think this is one of the most important things that @DavidAFrench has ever written. Partisanship as an identity is tearing this country apart. I’ve seen it infect family and friends and just take them over. And they descend into madness.

Haley publicly throwing Kelly and Tillerson under the bus in an effort to demonstrate to Trumpland that she has given her unquestioned loyalty to the Dear Leader makes me want to puke in a bucket.
Nikki Haley claims that former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson & former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly sought to recruit her to work around and subvert Trump to save the country. She chose Trump instead of the country. Not interested in her book.

@mariahmocarey @gh14hinojosa5 @washingtonpost Again. We are using two different definitions of racism. Yours is EXTREMELY narrow and incorporates power more than mine does. I’m not sure how such issues will ever get reconciled when people stubbornly require the English language to bend to their ideology.

Yes. Today Donald Trump supporters will become radicalized. They were completely normal up until this day.
The average American has tuned this case out because they have tried this nonsense so many times; we are numb. But with this verdict, people will actually look into the details of the case and realize what bullshit it is. This is going to radicalize DT voters and create new ones.

What bad things has Harris done that compares to trying to hold power after losing an election and turning an angry mob loose on the vote counters?.
This really is just another way of saying that the people Sykes knows have sold out every other principle they have. When there are no good choices, people make bad ones. But if you can't admit that backing Harris goes against everything you once claimed to believe, you're lost.

I want to live in a country where the president did not try to take power despite losing an election. Therefore I support his opponent. If you want me to care about press conferences - don’t run an authoritarian.
Stipulating that the news media is and always has been a flawed human enterprise, read the responses to the post below and behold how many Americans appear to have lost the plot on the Fourth Estate’s role in our democracy. Do they really want to live in a country where.

I once puzzled over why Trump appointed Ben Carson—a skilled neurosurgeon—as HUD Secretary. It seemed strange mismatch of talent and office, until today when Trump repeated the pattern with another black appointee to the same post. Trump sees this role as being over the Projects.
Donald Trump names former NFL player and White House aide, Scott Turner, as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
