@PitaGriffin For small quantities it’s faster to use a human. You can start to recoup robotic programming time for larger quantities, but the robot will still be much slower overall. In very high quantities it makes sense to switch to stamping. The majority of our work is 1-500 units.

All of our mild steel and 5052 aluminum is sourced domestically 🇺🇸 I’m expecting price increases on copper, brass and Ti, maybe 7075 aluminum too. I don’t think it’ll affect many small/medium sized shops because we all get feedstock from the same handful of vendors. Large companies that import coils from overseas will feel it more than us

@xeokeri @privateinequity Nah. The laser fence is looking for material thickness. Anything that is outside of that thickness (organic or inorganic) triggers a stop.

@privateinequity There is a laser fence aligned with the punch and die. If anything besides the material (your fingers) gets in the way, the machine stop. I’ve accidentally tested it a few times. Works great

@Donkeykongplays Best practice so far: - if it exists on Amazon, it’s not a good fit - if the parts are low cost, sell them in case packs - ideal parts are niche, solve a specific problem, and well-designed

Yep! As many line items and materials as you want. The current best-practice is to place an order with all the parts in it, verify that everything is good when it gets to your house, then turn that order into a Product via order history. Once it’s been ordered the first time, it’s eligible to become a Product.

@John_Rehagen We’re really good at knowing so little about a process that we end up inventing something dumb and it works

@ThaaatColin Today we require that all eligible Products need to have been produced and ordered at least once, that’s why we force a saved cart or order history. I don’t want to sell anything that isn’t “proven”…at least for beta

@vrushankdes @xeokeri Early testing says that we’ll be a little more expensive than china, but very competitive in the US. Ultra fast lead time too. Price will come down as we scale capacity

@VAT_Engineering We have facilities in Paris, KY and Arlington, TX. Our Paris facility has been running for almost 3 years now 🫡 We’re always working on getting faster though. We have 2 more facilities planned, but it’ll take some time. Expect 1-2 day shorter lead times in early summer

@TuelTaylor We’re working on kitting and some integrations, but that will take a bit. Best practice today is to list the SendCutSend parts and a BOM for anything else
