Am mindful that I was to give a talk to the Philological Society today, now. Withdrawing because of #UCUstrike was hard, but I’m doing it to support all colleagues, esp junior, and those in philology, linguistics and phonetics, fighting for our future #OneOfUsAllOfUs

It’s hard being a HoD on strike. But that’s as nothing when I hear what younger colleagues are facing in retirement under the proposed #USS cuts (to take just one example). That’s why I’m here in the snow and cold to say no #OneOfUsAllOfUs
