My insurance has a tool that lets you look up procedures and get an estimate of how much it will cost you. I looked up my ob/gyn and a vaginal birth. Straightforward, right? My insurance guessed it would be $275.
Guys I got the bill and it was, uhhhhhhhhhhh, more. Than that.
There is genuinely no way to find out what a medical visit or test will cost in advance, and I HATE THAT. What other similar expenses do we go into sight unseen? I feel like I am gambling every damn time, rolling the dice and hoping I get lucky. And I HAVE insurance!
