Difference between Scorsese & Tarantino: Tarantino shows killin' Nazis as an unambiguous, ass-kickin' triumph while Scorsese portrays it as a bleak act that haunts a man for the rest of his life. Both are excellent filmmakers whose movies I love but. .
the parts of shutter island that most stick out to me are the war scenes, especially the nazi massacre. there's really nothing like them in scorsese's filmography

To make sure nuance doesn't get lost here: I think Tarantino is the best (or at least my favorite) director to debut in my lifetime (1990-) and he's never made a movie I didn't enjoy. I just think Scorsese's work is deeper.
