I've decided that this is it. After 14.5 years on Twitter I've really seen it spiral into utter awfulness since it became X and I've decided to move the majority of my chatter to I'll leave this up as a way to post Substack articles but that's it I think

@jim_keats Absolutely, they are usually put into the colour of the uniform, same as turbans and kilts when put into frontline, usually khaki.

@jim_keats It was in WW2. We found after the Indian revolt in the 1850s that you need to be sensitive to cultures. If it can be adapted for uniform for certain roles then why not? Obviously frontline infantry wouldn’t run into combat with Saris on but plenty of roles are fine.
