It’s interesting—or, I think it’s interesting—that the pieces that I like the most often take the longest time to find a home (when they do). Thanks to
@Salamander_Mag
for including “Harpy” in this beauty -packed (!!!) issue. Harpy is from my forthcoming book LUPINE.
Look who has arrived! Thank you so much to
@BlackLawrence

Challenging our preconceived notions of narrative, Irish lets wildness pulse at the edges of her sentences, “obscene up close,” but “all a-light…” -Jenny Molberg, Refusal 💀 Lupine is available for preorder from

I have had a totally positive experience working with

. Not only are the editors supportive, but there is genuine warmth among pressmates. I would encourage anyone interested to submit a manuscript or proposal. ♥️ 📚
HATCH is an apocalyptic vision engaging with the most pressing concerns of our sociopolitical moment: reproductive rights, climate crisis, gender & racial bias in healthcare & technology, disinformation, pseudoscience, & the possibilities & dangers of artificial intelligence.

I'm happy to share that

Curbstone publishes all sorts of books, from novels, to memoirs, to essays, to translations, and more. And when it publishes poetry, those collections are inevitably extraordinary.
We can’t wait for you to see what’s coming in spring 2024.

Olivia, our dear, clever girl, is so tough that she didn’t let anyone know she wasn’t feeling well until she was very sick. Today she had surgery and is, thankfully, already feeling much better. 14 🦷 lighter!
Heartfelt gratitude to all of my dear fellow writers & students who came out on a brisk evening to make Hatch’s entry into the world so special. Thank you to poets Jacqueline Balderrama, K’Ehleyr McNulty, & Susan Nguyen for sharing your words alongside mine. ❤️
LUPINE is an anticipated book!—and available for preorder now from

Please look at this box of treasures from
@the_ethelzine
. Not only did
@the_ethelzine
make a special order of gorgeous chapbooks for my class, but they also sewed every writer a beautiful blank journal from book scraps. Thank you, ethel birds! 🪡
We are so incredibly ready to pry open the hatch and crawl out of the metal womb.

As LUPINE gets closer to be a book in the world, it’s time to get pre-publication 🦆 🦆 🦆 in row, duties I always feel squeamish about, though I love writing & am grateful for the opportunity to share work. Book Reviewers, please DM me if you’d like a review copy of LUPINE?
Though writing is often solitary work, I don’t think any book enters the world without a lot of help along the way. I’m incredibly grateful for the support LUPINE received from

One of my “favorite” pieces from LUPINE, originally published in
@the_ethelzine
. Something I find really interesting about putting work out into the world is that pieces closest to my heart tend to be those that are never accepted…or that find a special home. 💀🖤🐺
I’m so lucky to work with writers I admire as artists & people, who I have continuously learned alongside. In
@lithub
a phenomenal group
@KalaniPickhart
,
@cgdantoni
, Winslow Schmelling & Arya Naidu share thoughts on community & ghosts
An enormous and heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us last night for the local release of HATCH. I am so grateful to share the evening with you all & so grateful to my fellow writers Arya Naidu, Winslow Schmelling, and Tarah Knaresboro for their beautiful readings.
Thanks to

! Great to see some of
@asuEnglish
’s best in action.
I’m already overwhelmed by AWP. But, I’m pleased to be reading with some of my dear pressmates, and will also be signing books, if anyone wants a copy of LUPINE.
@BlackLawrence
has a wealth of events worth checking out.
Every semester I make everyone their own little “curated” package of stories, and every semester at about this time, I lose sight of my desk & what began carefully organized, descends into lovely paper chaos.
For our uncanny class, to enhance the uncanny experience, I have tried to scent our handouts with a smell evocative of what we are discussing. Tonight: the grass and dirt of premature burial. 🪦
Cover reveal! I’m so thrilled to share the cover of WHIPSAW coming from
@Anhinga_Press
in April. My gratitude to acclaimed sculptor David Altmejd for gracing the cover with a detail from his powerful sculpture “Le Trou” and many thanks to the David Kordansky Gallery. 1/4
I’m almost finished reading the writing people shared after a workshop I facilitated through
@BlackLawrence
a few weeks ago & W O W! So many exciting drafts! Thank you, everyone, who shared. It’s been such a pleasure to spend time with your writing. ♥️
Twenty years ago today, when we just kids starting high school, the sweetest, smartest, funniest boy asked me out on a date, and twenty years later, here we are. 💗
This event is incredibly special to me because I’ll reading with the women HATCH is dedicated to, writers who I have learned so much alongside and value so much.
On April 4th, I’ll have the pleasure of reading with
@erinslaughter23
whose newest collection, The Sorrow Festival is forthcoming from
@CLASHBooks
&
@BrennaWomer
whose newest, Cost of Living, is available for preorder from

Yesterday the final members of the cohort who entered our program during the height of Covid—not an easy time to start an MFA!—gave their defenses. Hearing each read from their work was such a special experience. They are all so talented. CONGRATULATIONS!
As we approach the end of our semester as ASU, I want to say how grateful I am to the staff
@asuEnglish
&
@piper_center
& how appreciative I am of my colleagues.
@mdbell79
, our program director, has done a lot to ensure students feel supported & things run smoothly. Thank you!
I had the good fortune to talk about LUPINE with my colleague, the gorgeous poet, generous teacher, and thoughtful editor
@suz_poet

🖤 Thanks to everyone there for giving space to this!
