Are you aware that each person on earth chooses if they're going to heaven or hell? Are you aware that the choices are not performance based? People go either to heaven or to hell based on one thing only: did they give their lives over to Yeshua Hamashiach, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14: 6 NKJV) I promise you, there are people who strived to be good, honest, and kind, yet who never gave their lives to Jesus who are in hell. Equally, there are people who did evil things while on earth, yet because they had an experience with Jesus, gave their lives to Him, were changed, and now are in heaven. For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin. (Ecclesiastes 7: 20 NKJV) A lot of people, including Christians, still believe getting to heaven is merit based. The problem with this is that NO human beings are without sin. None. That was the reason Jesus had to come in human form and die as the sacrificial lamb for all of mankind. Because He is both God and man, He is without sin, and His blood is holy, Jesus's sacrifice is the only reason any of us will attain heaven. The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1: 29 NKJV) And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, (Revelation 5:9 NKJV) At this point you might be asking why everyone doesn't go to heaven if Jesus's sacrifice took away the sin of the world? Because God gave humans free will. Salvation is a gift that must be excepted. It's your choice... And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of [a]the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24: 15 NKJV)
