‼️ The Kerner Swing Bridge in Lafitte was hit by a barge. Any residents that may still be in Lafitte are advised to not attempt to drive on this bridge. We do not believe it is structurally safe. ‼️
The Jefferson Parish Water Department and Emergency crews have worked throughout the night to successfully repair the waterline. We are now working to gradually restore water pressure on the east bank of Jefferson Parish.
‼️ We are issuing a Boil Water Advisory for the entire East Bank of Jefferson Parish due to the loss of pressure in the distribution system. 💧 Customers will need to boil their water as a precaution until this boil water advisory has been rescinded.
Thank you to the 90 soldiers from the 2225th Multi-Role Bridge Company that put in 20 hours of hard work on assembling and completing the Lafitte Bridge.
