June is a big month!! I'll be featured on the homepage of
@Twitch
for the Together for Pride campaign, as well as cycling onto the front page carousel to represent the Twitch Latin Guild!
Any brands/companies/game devs looking to work with a magical, kooky, and spooky gay? 👀
“I want to support my favorite creators but I have no moneeeey 😭”
- Like/RT/respond to their tweets!
- consume the content they put out for free!
- like, comment on, and SHARE the content they put out for free!
Money is VERY helpful, but not the only way to support us!
I urge you to read this, ESPECIALLY if you’re white
Don’t just support black streamers because they’re a trending topic. They’ve always been putting in the work. They’ve always been blessing us with their talent. Support them because of their excellence
Friendly reminder that “not being political” is a privilege, as there are several marginalized communities whose rights and identities have been made political
Sorry RDJ, you don’t get to “demonstrate positivity” while also defending acts of homophobia
Chris Pratt using his platform to advocate for his homophobic church is a HUGE problem, and defending that makes you part of the problem
When men say “it’s so rare to find a girl that’s into gaming” I have to assume that they’ve never actually interacted with any women in their entire life
If you’re a part of the queer community, you do not need to be “visibly queer” to still have a home in the queer community. You, as you are, are enough.
Read that again if you need to.
If you still actively support JK Rowling, who is CONTINUING to use her Twitter platform of 14 million people to demonize trans people, now is a better time than any to just…stop
Since it feels like some of y’all are willfully missing the point…
- you don’t have to go out and have sex with a trans man right now to get your gay card
- The point here is that trans men are men, not some lesser category of man to be attracted to
TW: Nickmercs blaming Apex for not getting the invite to Pro-League
A couple of things,
#1
. Implying that LGBTQIA+ education is dangerous/harms students, leads to the negative stigmatization of those people.
#2
. Why are you complaining about not making it to PL off an invite
- we’re also not going to reduce sex/trans people to simply genitalia. I thought we already had that conversation
Lastly, there are a WILD amount of trans men out there that are hot as hell. If you’re suddenly not attracted to them because they’re trans, THAT’S transphobic
Final Fantasy X is one of the most powerful allegories for the damaging nature that religious totalitarianism can have, with an encouraging message that we all have the potential to dismantle harmful systems
This is your reminder that your bisexuality/pansexuality is valid if you’re in a hetero-presenting relationship, or if you’re more attracted to some genders over others 💖
Do what makes you happy. I simply can’t tell you how to live your life, but like…we gotta draw a line SOMEWHERE, especially when someone’s actions are actively harming a marginalized community
Reminder that Salvation Army is notably anti-LGBTQIA in their doctrine, and has gone as far as locking trans individuals out of their shelters, so please consider this when they’re asking for your money!
I’m having so many thoughts right now, and most of them are just “AHHHHHHHHHRJENKFME”
Thank you, from my entire heart, to everyone who helped me get here 💖
So like, no big deal or anything, but
@JoeZieja
, the VA who played Claude in Fire Emblem: Three Houses raided my Twitch channel after he did a stream with
@SimplyAllegra
, the VA who played Dorothea, and I proceeded to have a WHOLE HECKIN’ MOMENT
I just almost collided with a man who was entering the elevator in my building as I was leaving, and he said “whoa, sorry” so I said “you’re fine” and right as he was out of view, he said “you are too, bro”
I- 😳
SAILOR MOON IS ACTUALLY ONE OF THE COOL PIECES OF QUEER REPRESENTATION OF ALL TIME BECAUSE SHE VERY OBVIOUSLY THIRSTS OVER SEVERAL OF HER FEMALE FRIENDS WHILE ALSO HAVING ONE OF THE BEST STORIES OF BECOMING AN EMOTIONALLY MATURE, INDEPENDENT WOMAN
I cannot even begin to tell you how important it is to click like and retweet on a content creators’ tweets if you genuinely like them
It is a free way to help someone’s platform grow. It’s a free way to give them the potential to make a living off of their craft
As a gay Twitch streamer, a lot of people ask me whether or not straight allies should be allowed to use the LGBTQIA+ tag for their channel as a "safe space" indicator. I have too many thoughts about it to put in just one tweet, so here's a thread on how I feel about it:
@bchase88ny
I don’t think anyone’s asking you to hate HP. But you can love it without buying the official stuff for it, continuing to enable her to do use her platform this hatefully
Pride Month should not make you, a queer person, feel like you don’t belong in the LGBTQIA+ community
There is no requirement to celebrating your identity other than simply being you. You ARE queer enough, and you always have been 💖
Monetary support for creators is great, but if you can’t support that way, liking, sharing, and commenting on their creations is SO IMPORTANT
Social media algorithms thrive off of engagement, so if you want to give support for free, engage with their content! It helps SO MUCH
Hey
@Twitch
,
Since we’ve been reminded of how easy it is to switch platforms if we’re offered financial security, with Dr. Lupo’s switch to YouTube Gaming…
Maybe NOW is a great time to ensure us that you’re still working on stopping the hate raids on marginalized creators??
If someone doesn’t want to be called “dude” because it makes them feel uncomfy about their gender, just respect that!
Whether or not you PERSONALLY believe it’s gendered, it can cause gender dysphoria, and that’s enough of a reason to respect people who ask not to call them dude
Depression isn’t always crying on the couch because something bad happened
Sometimes it’s not being able to reach out to friends when you need to. Sometimes it’s not getting things done even though you need to. Sometimes it’s not starting projects you’re passionate about
Absolutely OBSESSED with with
#PRIDE
controller that
@Xbox
sent to me!! No joke, I opened it up, smiled, and immediately said “this is so cool”
I cannot wait to play games in an even gayer fashion 💃🏻
It’s okay if you like pumpkin spice things
It’s okay if you DON’T like pumpkin spice things
As long as we can agree that straight pride parades are dumb and an insult to the progress the queer community has made, we’re good
The fact that there are TOO MANY men that think it should be normal to threaten women in game lobbies with rape is both abhorrent and unacceptable
It’s 2024. Gaming is meant to be fun. If violent threats during games are how you have “fun,” don’t 🙂
Reminder that queer, POC, and other marginalized groups want to be celebrated for their wins and the good parts of their lives too, not just used as sources of trauma for you to learn from
Hey
@NICKMERCS
, do you like when your fans DM random strangers to say bigoted things to them in defense of YOU?
Because THIS is what your tweet about the LGBTQ+ community has instigated
If you’re so angry about queer people to the point of DMing a stranger just to say how much you don’t approve of them, I think it’s time to get down to the bottom of why you’re letting people who have NOTHING to do with you fill you with anger to the point of harassing others
@thesarahkey
There is so much copyright-free music out there that they could have used to fill this in…and yet, here we are
I love the Life is Strange games but my god, this is just as laughable as you made it out to be 😂
And while we’re at it, since others were talking about this, where was this energy when all the women of Marvel were getting harassed? Like Brie Larson and Tessa Thompson?
They were getting torn down for no good reason, whereas we’re calling out legitimate homophobia
“Omg you’re so talented!! How are you not super famous?”
I dunno, are you…
- liking/sharing/commenting on my posts?
- recommending me to people who would like my content?
- telling people why monetarily supporting can benefit them?
No? Well let’s start there, then!
Alright, let’s talk about why calling out random lurkers on Twitch is likely a bad practice, because not everyone off of Twitch knows Twitch etiquette, and may want to know
A lurker is someone watching a stream without talking in the chat. Why is calling them out bad? (1/?)
If you participate in bi-erasure, or say that bi/pan people have to “choose” one gender to be attracted to, I hope you step on a Lego every day for the rest of your life 😌
If you want your favorite content creators to be producing enough content to where it can be considered a full-time job, don’t immediately turn around and shame them for advertising the benefits that would come from monetarily supporting them
Trans women are women
Trans men are men
If that bothers you for some reason, you’re simply not living in reality, because even science backs that up
Mind your business and think about why you want people to be miserable
“So what, I just can’t like Harry Potter anymore??”
No, whether or not you enjoy Harry Potter is not the issue
The issue is that if you’re continuing to monetarily support the series/JK Rowling, you’re enabling her to continue harming trans folk. That’s the unfortunate impact
Apparently some congresswoman thinks LGBTQIA+ people shouldn’t come out until they’re 21??
First of all, no
Second of all, maybe that means Y’ALL should shut up about your heterosexuality before 21 if that’s how it’s gonna be 😌
Make no mistake, I’m all for empowering people to make content around showing more of their body…
But the trans community of
@Twitch
has been CAMPAIGNING for a Trans tag. If y’all can make this a category so easily, you can make discoverability for trans creators just as easily
Sometimes “networking” is just as simple as being kind
Celebrate people’s successes. Say nice things about what they do. Let them know you’re rooting for them
Kindness is memorable, and it goes such a long way
The fact that there are gay people that seem more upset about bisexuality than they are about racism within the queer community is deeply disturbing, and will never sit well with me
He said “I love you. We understand your pain” about armed terrorists in the Capitol
He called a human rights group “thugs” that went to the streets peacefully
If you’re still not paying attention, I don’t know how to help you
Reminder that the only requirement to identifying as non-binary is…to be non-binary
It’s not a fashion statement. It’s not something you have to put on. It’s just who you are. You are valid no matter how you present as a non-binary person
“Not buying the new HP game won’t affect her at all”
“Can’t we just separate the art from the artist?”
“Constantly talking about her only makes it worse”
Nah, we gotta speak out and take action because of things like this:
Just this week, JK Rowling has vilified a Wales Police LGBTQ Network doing community outreach after a man was killed in a homophobic hate crime as "virtue signaling" and also spread misinformation from a now deleted Twitter account about transgender detransition. Its Monday.
Weird that people are being outraged by POC in a fantasy show because it’s not “historically accurate” but dwarves, elves, and a large glowing eye on the top of a tower we’re all definitely in history books
Kink belongs at Pride because we had our sex acts criminalized as a means of targeted discrimination against us
It would do some of y’all some good to learn about our history, and see why things like this are so important to our community
This is incredibly irresponsible and demonizes bisexuality in a way that is BEYOND inappropriate
Shame on you,
@guardian
. This is incredibly anti-queer and it’s inexcusable that it was even allowed to get posted
Making joke pronouns is crusty behavior, and the more you do it, the crustier you become
Respect people’s gender identities. Respect their pronouns. It’s REALLY not that hard
