#GreenBonesMovie 💚🦴
More than its award-winning cinematography and acting, the film "Green Bones", a clear standout, won me over through its poignant themes. Can goodness arise from those who have committed crimes? Are criminals capable of change? Should the State be concerned in the rehabilitation of criminals? Are there abuses and injustices in the way we treat Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs)? These questions posed by the film are key to understanding many of the problems of our criminal justice system. We must remember that human rights are for all humans, regardless of what they have done. It is easy to forget that fact when leaders demonize petty criminals to justify murdering them and to mask their more severe crimes.
