A lot of classical musicians pay lip service to community and underserved audiences. This dude (who was giving private performances for audiences of me when we were college roommates) really does it.

How do you haul a keyboard up a ski lift? Pianist David Feurzeig aims to perform in every town in #Vermont, but booking those gigs isn’t always easy.

I live with three buildings in different stages of construction (all involving drilling) across the street, which is also being repaired (drilling!), plus extensive facade work (drilling!) on my building. So, yeah, noise. @heybonanos gets it.

@ProfSchleich @DanDoctoroff Yeah, good question. Both, for sure - you need the vision and the team. Bloomberg combined command of detail with the ability to delegate.

@ProfSchleich @DanDoctoroff Yes, I agree that they were connected by the overall approach: upzone near transit corridors and on the waterfront; downzone in outer-borough residential districts.

@ProfSchleich @DanDoctoroff And your point about the downzonings is definitely on target, but I do have the sense that while it was a major legacy of the Bloomberg administration, that was something that fell largely in Amanda Burden's portfolio. Doctoroff never seemed to care too much about that part.

I covered much of what Dan Doctoroff wrought during the Bloomberg years, but looking back now I'm struck by what a singular figure he was in city government and how deep and broad his legacy is. So I wrote about that.
