@mishu70 Ah. I didn't know about that one. I ended up settling on already. But currently gives me a 404 anyway. :(

@erikkroes Heh, there are definitely days when that happens. I guess I'll just have to live with that incongruity. :)

@erikkroes Yeah, I ended up doing the same, but a lot of generic instances are very full now, so I ended up going with something region specific: The chances of me moving country are minimal really and being in Australia isn't an eligibility requirement anyway.

Thinking about giving this whole Mastodon thing a try, but even figuring out what instance to use is a challenge i can't get past. Fosstodon is probably the closest match, but free/open source isn't my entire identity. It feels weird to have your identity tied to one group.

@QChristensen Hahaha. I'm surprised no one has created yet.

@DerekRiemer That's fair. And I guess that's how things work elsewhere too. It's just... too many additional things to check. I totally respect the desire for multiple hats, but I'd prefer a general purpose hat sometimes too.

@onsman I wasn't aware of that one. Thanks. It still feels kinda weird - what if I decide to move to another country? :) - but that's pretty unlikely, so I guess it's okay. And also, the majority of the people I follow would be elsewhere. I guess that's no big deal, but hmm.

With something like good ol' IRC or even modern Discord, there are multiple servers, yes, but it's kinda expected that you would have a presence on multiple. With social media, I don't really want to deal with that, even if I technically could.

@DerekRiemer @gonz_blinko @NVAccess I agree unnecessary breaking changes should be avoided and I think NVA are learning that, but there are always going to be necessary breaking changes, plus add-on devs using private APIs they shouldn't.

@BorrisInABox @Simon818 More problematic for me is the fact that double tapping doesn't seem to work properly in WatchOS 9. I frequently have to triple tap. And double tap was unreliable enough as it was in WatchOS 8.

@BorrisInABox @Simon818 IMO, the key is less the length of the vibrations and more the pauses between them. I can't tell the difference between 1:00 and 10:00 at fast speed, for example, but it's much easier with more context.

@KaraLG84 @NVAccess The default probably should be changed. I think it's easier for advanced users who care about brevity to change it than it is for novice users to understand what it's referring to. But in the early days, you couldn't easily customise symbol pronunciation like you can now.

@ToniBarthMusic You may well be right. It's weird though because everywhere I see even Apple saying that the Airpods use AAC.
