So I've had to block most of teacher "X." Tired of the whining. If all you do is listen to the negative people then you allow them to make you into a negative person too. Lesson from cancer: you choose how you respond to situations.

Unless there is an injury or disease, your muscles probably fire fine. But it's wonderful marketing to pretend otherwise.

As a coach, it’s not about you. It’s about teaching the sport, instilling values, and helping to mold young men and women into the kind that you would be proud to know.

Squats teach the application of force against the ground and work almost the entire body. This exercise is almost essential for athletes.

The weight room teaches the value of hard work, reveals character or where it is lacking, teaches performing in hard conditions, and builds teams.

Practice is hard so that you can function, well, when you are tired, playing from behind, or in less than ideal circumstances. If you only play well under perfect conditions then you won’t win many games.

Values are supposed to define who you are and how you act all the time, not just when you are in church. #leadbyexample

I turn 54 on Monday. Today I did power cleans, squats with bands, kettlebell lunges, deadlifts with bands, and lots of abs. The weight is about 2/3’s of what I was doing 30 years ago. Even so, I still try to get a little better each day. Get better or wait to die. #oldfart

If your why is to be excellent and play in the post season, then you have to practice and train accordingly.

Exercises are only tools, not religion. Don't be afraid to use a different one if it meets the athlete's needs better.

Medicine balls and jump ropes; simple, cheap, portable, versatile. Don't overlook these great tools for developing athleticism, power, and conditioning.

If you don't eat right, sleep, and train hard with consistency then no magic program or supplement will make up for that.
