It is with total sadness that I share the news of my grandmother’s passing. She was the matriarch of my family, so this one hurts 😞. To my newest Guardian Angel: You were the embodiment of poise and grace. You taught me how to be confident and carry myself with class. You were the reason I graduated from two colleges because you showed me what Black excellence was. You were an advocate, a nurturer, and a fighter. Even in the end, you never gave up fighting. I love you grandma, and I hope you fly high 👼🏾

It's actually crazy how much black sitcoms (for adults and kids) were so popular and mainstreamed to the point of being a formative part of so many people's childhoods--of all backgrounds--in the US through the 90s and early 00s and then they just... stopped getting made.
