@MadsDavies @LivDiocese For what it’s worth I think all this will now come to light including the identity of the ‘leaker’ 🫤

@MadsDavies Was the leaky CNC member also the person who made the same allegation to +Warrington who would have had no choice but to act on it, thus triggering the chain of events that has impacted so severely on her and is now under investigation in @LivDiocese?

Even compared with Synods I Have Known, the present @synod sounds like a gnarly one. Prayers for all involved for the living of this day

@WATCH_ACT @synod @BishopNewcastle @churchofengland Does the Great Replacement include all the female bishops or are there any that @WATCH_ACT still supports? Apart from +Newcastle of course. Only it seems a bit of a waste of all the time and effort we put into getting them appointed

@dougchaplin @churchofengland Right enough I thought it was longer ago that she died. On the other hand Carlo Acutis only died in 2006

Lots of posts flying around telling @synod members that there will be a disaster/crisis/emergency/uprising unless they (insert option 3 or option 4). Believe that the Holy Spirit will be at work through our imperfect decision making if we act in good conscience

@giles_fraser Has the job become toxic? No longer desirable? Is the organisation staggering under multiple challenges? Will there be thankless labour and few rewards? Must be a woman’s turn to do it …

@LizziGreen2 @SamuelJMargrave @CottrellStephen @synod ABY has both a right and a responsibility to address Synod. Don’t want to hear him? Go and have a cup of tea.

@Ian_Gomersall I can admire her for speaking her truth but I’m not convinced she’s doing so in love. She seems motivated by a deep anger against her colleagues that’s not wholly explained by a concern for survivors. IMVHO

Good afternoon @synod and here’s an aphorism of Dean Inge for your consideration. ‘There are two kinds of fools: one says, ‘this is old, therefore it is good,’ the other says, ‘this is new, therefore it is better.’

@RobinWardSSH @MadsDavies @DuncanHollands Not sure Ready Now is a helpful category. You can only remain Perfectly Ripe for a very short time before reaching Use By. To avoid unnecessary waste I propose these products should be relabelled with the more open ended Display Until and Best Before

@NorthantsCodger @churchofengland @BishopNewcastle @synod I think that’s a falling out between bishops which is a bit different from what I’m talking about. So far as I know she’s not seeking a rapprochement

@SatterleyChris @churchofengland One of our greatest illusions, I sometimes think, is that we want to be led by our bishops when what we really want is to influence them to do what we want

@MadsDavies @ChurchTimes @synod That makes sense to me. Obviously it’s a valid issue in its own right. But it also seems to have become a rallying point for people with long standing dissatisfactions both real and imaginary on a whole range of other issues

@MadsDavies @ChurchTimes @synod Apologies, it wasn’t meant as a criticism, more a general observation on how safeguarding seems to have eclipsed even LLF in people’s minds. The @ChurchTimes coverage of safeguarding has been first rate IMO and far superior to the secular media
