It may be immodest but I am proud that I got a PhD. I self-funded for 6 years, worked 6 jobs inc. teaching, working in bars & retail, and struggled with rent for many years. It’s great to have a qualification and something tangible to show for it all.

Spoke to some labour canvassers today and they promised me my Labour candidate/MP is a socialist.
The same guy who was elected as a Tory MP in 2019, voted against measures to protect the climate, against raising taxes on banks, voted to make it easier to remove citizenship…

It’s not just ‘our’ memorial but the national memorial for Empire and Commonwealth soldiers too. Palestinians fought for allies in ww2 and Palestine was a mandate. so it commemorates them as well.
