Having worked on many deals for athletes in collective space, I agree. I've never seen two contracts that are even remotely similar. Every group is really different. It would be good to have some consistency like the standard agreement used by the NFLPA.

Remember who you work with is a representation of YOUR character.
Theres a lawyer that a few players are using as “representation” for the transfer portal who is tarnishing their reputations. He’s presenting players as being worth $1 million+ (outrageous). Teams are completely writing off any player that works with him. Do your research pls.

The situation I am referring to happened this morning with an athlete's collective deal. The contract they sent was exclusive and granted the athletes publicity rights in.

What bugs me about this argument is how dumb it sounds. I've seen teammates get cash or checks from envelopes when I was playing in high school. Scrapping collectives won't change a thing; we'll just be back to the same old ways.

It's also incredibly unfortunate that the positive side of NIL is never reported. However, this is the case with anything in the media, as when was the last time we turned on a television and saw good news? The media knows that bad news attracts views and they continue to push it.
This is the side -- and the majority -- of the story around NIL, and @ChaseQB11 does a great job or articulating it here. Not sure you can listen to this and give any credence to Charlie Baker saying that NIL is "terrible" for athletes.

The value of an athlete is essentially gauged by the amount of monetary compensation a brand or collective is willing to provide for their services. If an athlete is receiving a 6-7 figure salary, why should that pose any concern?.
A deal reporting mandate for #NIL deals is not needed to allow athletes to understand their value. It’s wanted by the NCAA to allow them to further control athlete compensation.

Athletes I speak with tend to associate an offer with a guarantee that they will be paid. Athletes, make sure you have someone in your corner who has been through this before and understands these types of agreements. It's okay to want to be paid, but it's worth having the.
