The quotes to this are disgusting. I was raised by a single mum, and have nothing but respect for them. I think men hate them because they’re a reminder that they’re not really needed. Better to have a single mum than a useless father taking up space around the house.

Nearly finished The Ministry of Time - a really, really engrossing read. Equally as satisfying as that donut (and that’s a bloody good donut). This book is having a lot of fun, both with the story and language, but has a rock solid emotional core to it. Out in May.

The 1st in an absolutely outstanding fantasy trilogy. Amazing world building, characters and storyline - it makes it all seem very effortless. I’ve never reread a book before but I know I’ll come back to this. It will be considered a classic in years to come, if it isn’t already.

Might start doing a thread of random book recs - I’ll start with probably one of my favourite nonfiction books. A group biography is always fun but this is also a great introduction to the thinking of Sartre, de Beauvoir et al. Brilliantly written, entertaining too
