Today I put on my "Kotlin one love" T-shirt and "I speak Java" hoodie. And went to the office where we mostly use Scala...
What can go wrong?😉
P.S. My boxing gloves are with me 😈
The biggest disappointment in my life:
I’ve chosen a Software Engineering career to not work with people but with computers. And then I realized I’m actually working with people much more than with computers 😅😅😅
And honestly people are everywhere, so please don’t be jerks 🙏
I think I was invited to the program in May, but I postponed it a lot because of relocation and new job.
Today I am officially a
@GoogleDevExpert
for Kotlin 🥳
So
@jMargaritaN
is finally back to the community world! With new talks, projects and blogposts! See you soon😉
Three months ago being a little bit (very) drunk I made this stupid tweet. I was sure, having 400 followers, it's impossible to reach 300 ❤
But you rock people😍🤘
Today I am extremely excited to inform that I'm going to fulfill this promise at
@Javadaylviv
in a week🤘🤘🤘
Last week at
#kotlinconf
I fulfilled one of my dreams.
I finally met and talked with
@trisha_gee
😍 And for me it was so special to meet her at the conference, where I was with my son.
If not her, I’m not sure I’d ever consider this option. Thanks a lot for that 🙏
These days I feel personal achievement If I spent a day without crying… I had no such days since Feb 24th
My family, my friends most of them are in Ukraine. My whole life was in Ukraine…
Previously I had many dreams… Today the only thing I want is to hug my family in Kyiv 💔
Imagine, someone invades your home, kills you and takes your baby.
Then they’re posting photos with your baby, how they’re happy to “adopt” this poor kid.
Ah yes, they’re still in the UN Security Council…
#RussiaisATerroistState
#ShameUN
Russia keeps kidnapping Ukrainian children. They believe it is totally fine, so they don’t even try to hide it.
This lady posted an update on her telegram channel saying that “she’s been living with a precious baby from Enerhodar for 2 days already.“
Dear Kotlin geeks!
I am so much excited to see announce:
This week we’re going to have a 2-days online conference about Kotlin
You'll find a lot of great talks and interesting topics there.
Don't miss your chance to ask speakers during their sessions!
Not in a mood for tech tweets, feel only anger.
Today at night Russia started bombing Ukrainian cities. I never thought this could happen to my country.
I wish Hujlo (aka Putin) will be sentenced to death for all the terrible things he did to Ukraine and other neighbors.
🇺🇦
The good reason to leave
@Devoxx
earlier is to celebrate an anniversary of being married to the best man in the world ❤️
Thanks
@_godin_
for keeping me sane in such a crazy world ❤️
I did it! I am not sure if people liked the content but they definitely enjoyed all my jokes :)
#DevoxxFR
thanks a lot for inviting and for being such an amazing audience.
For those who missed it, here you can find slides:
I am Ukrainian and I claim that the war didn’t start yesterday, the war is already there since 2014.
In Ukraine we value freedom, so we are ready to die for it. We showed it many times throughout our rich history.
So Hujlo (aka Putin) please hands off from my country! 🇺🇦
Random thoughts.
Once I learned Gradle, my Maven improved. Once I learned Kotlin, my Java improved once I learned Scala, my Kotlin improved. And I can continue this list…
The general rule, there’s no harm in learning new things, even if you won’t use them immediately 🤔
My friends from Russia and Belarus I can relate you’re afraid. In 2013-2014 we were afraid too. And the government wasn’t arresting people, they shot!
But you not protesting means you believe that Hujlo will win and conquer Ukraine.
So when he loses, on which side you wanna be?
Some of you may think that supporting Ukrainian army is controversial. Like if you support army, you’re supporting the war. That’s not the case.
Ukrainians are fighting for their freedom and the goal is to stop the war.
donating to Ukrainian army = supporting peace 🇺🇦
Today my mom would have turned 56.
I wish she was here to hug me, to give me her advice, to support me...
It was a hard year. Yet another year without you.
You still have all of me...
I’d rather say it’s never too late to call your mom, but, unfortunately, it could be late 😢
My dance teacher once told me, good dancers never have pretty training shoes. The more you train the uglier your shoes become...
I am not dancing for many years but I still live according to this motto.
That’s my work laptop 😅
Not his first conference, but his first badge 🤩
Thanks a lot to
@bercut2000
and all other
@jPrimeConf
organizers. This is an awesome event! Absolutely recommend it!
And thanks for letting me speak about Ukraine from the stage 🇺🇦
Today my aunt didn’t reply to my last message a few hours ago.
She is currently in Kyiv and she is the only “parent” I have for already 7 years.
Normally I wouldn’t have noticed this but today I felt panic…
Thanks god, she’s just answered.
Russian warship, go fuck yourself👿
A year and a half ago I wrote an article "From Java to Scala through Kotlin".
Today I am thinking about the next part "From Scala to Typescript through pain, anger and hatred"
7 years ago I was listening to
@tagir_valeev
talks to learn more about Java streams and I was extremely excited about how cool he is.
Today I was invited to talk about code quality on the same stage with
@tagir_valeev
You can’t even imagine how deeply I appreciate this honor😊
It looks like almost after every my talk I receive at least one feedback about my appearance (speaker looks good, pretty girl...)
And I feel that it’s definitely not an appropriate place for such comments.
So please ask yourself if you’d write such comment to a male speaker too😔
Just found this photo from the conference in 2018. Not only I wore a dress, high heels and makeup. I also took my hair curling iron on the trip…🤦♀️
Feels like everything changed since then 😅
Finally, I have it🤩
Thanks a lot to
@venkat_s
for visiting Geneva and for your great presentation at
@GenevaJUG
. It was so insightful even though I missed some part of it 😊
Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Just did my 3rd talk in Australia and my last talk for 2023.
That was pretty fun. Finally will have some rest 😊
People say they liked my jokes, maybe I should switch to standup comedy one day 🤔
Working on Java 16 be like:
- Installed IntelliJ EAP, it crashed right after startup🤔
- Installed Eclipse IDE, it worked, but I missed my hotkeys🙁
- vim + javac = works just perfect 💕
Watching all the
#StarWars
episodes and spin-offs in chronological order. The best Christmas ever 😘
Merry Christmas and May the force be with you ❤️❤️❤️
Today I heard an interesting opinion. Ukrainians are now a privileged group of society…
Me living in Geneva for 2,5 years holding Non-EU B permit… Not being able to come home to my relatives and friends as it’s constantly being shelled:
Thanks for the fucking privilege 🤬
Tomorrow I'm going to present my first talk after 6 months without public speaking😊
Feel so thrilled... Hopefully, I didn't forget how to present 😅
What do you think this is about?)
Spoiler. It's not about Kotlin! Almost 😉
Personal achievement:
Today I had a few conversations over the telephone with different services, and I conducted all of them in French without switching to English 💪
I think it's time to announce that was my last talk about Kotlin gRPC and Star Wars 😍 It was a great journey, every time the talk was updated, polished. I made some experiments with it. After 15 times, I'm exhausted 😪 So please don't ask me to do it again 😉
Time to move on 😍
We were so happy to welcome
@jMargaritaN
among our speakers this year. Watch her talk on whether async gRPC & coroutines could be a perfect match and on how to build microservices with Kotlin & gRPC with minimum pain. 🤓💻💫
Something amazing happened to me today.
Before my talk, the track host introduced me and mentioned I organized a KUG in my native city Kyiv.
And then someone from the audience screamed « Slava Ukraini! » And I immediately answered « Herojam Slava! »
That was awesome 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
It was my first
#GeeCON
and I absolutely fell in love with it
Thanks a lot for organizing such a cool event!
Here you can find slides of my talk "Rediscovering gRPC with Kotlin Coroutines":
During the whole quarantine period I missed only one thing. And today I finally got it 🥳 Suddenly I understood that all these conferences, traveling, restaurants etc doesn’t matter if you and your beloved are apart and can’t see each other for 4 months...
Finally I had a chance to calm down! Thanks a lot to everyone who encouraged me! Here you can find slides for my talk at
@DevoxxUA
"Building microservices with Kotlin and gRPC"
All my relatives were telling me that my feminism will disappear once I become mother.
So, now I’m a mother and, I am much more feminist than ever. I see the lack of equality is even worse for parents and I want to fight more 🤨
Me: I have a very tough luck😢 Some days ago I talked to my friend from Dnipro. The next day russians started shelling Dnipro.
Then I talked to friends in Lviv & Vinnytsia and the next day there was shelling in these cities too.
My husband: Do you have friends in Moscow? 😈
1. Since 2019 some people constantly advise me to become a developer advocate.
For some time I was even considering this as a possible career path.
And if you feel the same, maybe you would like to listen to my thoughts:
@tagir_valeev
4. For some reason this world wants me to choose.
I don’t want to choose…
I am a Software Engineer AND I am also a person who can organize a conference, do presentations, sing, bake etc…
So instead of constantly asking me to choose let’s just get the most out of it 😉
Last Spring my team made a huge progress towards supporting
@gradle
.
We started maintaining Sonar scanner for Gradle, specified and implemented a pack of rules for Kotlin Gradle Dsl.
Today we finally had a chance to celebrate our achievements with this special chocolate bar 😍
Today after reviewing some Kotlin PRs and writing Kotlin code I realized:
You can stop writing Scala, but you can never stop thinking Scala.
My colleagues named it a Scala PTSD,
I prefer calling it my Scala alter-ego 😈
Very soon in September I’m back to work. And… I have no idea how I can focus on work and be productive knowing that every day hundreds/thousands of Ukrainians die… My family and my friends can be killed any day in any place… I refuse to move on… rUSSIA IS A TERRORIST😡
Today I received a video with birthday wishes from my friend, who is now near Bakhmut defending my home. He was in the car, that I helped his wife to buy some time ago.
That was the most heartbreaking moment of the day… Please, support Ukraine, every cent is important 💔💔💔
My dear friends!
We did a great job with my previous photo. So let's so even better this time!
I am extremely happy to announce that we've launched the cfp for KotLand Kyiv 2020.
Do not hesitate to put ❤ and retweet 😊
Yesterday explained to my physiotherapist that there are no nazis in Ukraine and no NATO troops. And she is not even Russian.
Fucking russian propaganda 😡
In Switzerland 🤦♀️
First time traveling without my son… That’s a strange feeling…
Finally, I can just sit in front of the gate and wait… I don’t need to seek for an elevator…
However, I’m already missing him sooo much 🥹
Ready for the
@DevoxxMA
Coffee and high hills. They were something I missed for 5 months because I couldn't afford it. Firstly, because of thrombosis and then because of self-isolation.
I am so excited to wear high heels and drink a cup of coffee for the first time this year 🥳
