OPEC SG HE #HaithamAlGhais paid a courtesy visit to the Federation of Austrian Industries to participate in a roundtable session, together with Mr Georg Knill, President of the Federation; Dr Werner Fasslabend, President of the Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce (AACC); HE Dr Abdullah bin Khalid Tawlah, President of the Arab Ambassadors Council, and multiple Ambassadors and representatives of OPEC Member Countries accredited in Vienna. The meeting provided a suitable platform for discussion on relevant collaboration aspects on several fronts, including economic collaboration, industrial development and energy security, with a particular emphasis on the role of technology and innovation. On the energy front, HE Al Ghais presented OPEC’s outlook for global energy issues, and highlighted the leading role played by OPEC and its Member Countries in advocating for a balanced, equitable and inclusive approach to addressing climate change, considering unique capacities and circumstances of all countries, in order to ensure sustainable market stability and address global energy poverty and development for the years and decades to come.
